I have noticed a reduction in crime because of this technology. And I hope other cities start using this as well. The past few years traffic violations have been very high. I hope that this year I can notice a reduced amount from previous years.
@@edwinseenit Nothing boot licking about it. Having your license plate read is purely optional, and studies prove that it solves crimes at an outstanding rate.
If only King George had this technology! He would not have lost all that land to a band of rebel rousers! Soon enough, we won't need traffic cops, because computer driven, electric vehicles will be tracked (and speed CONTROLLED) by government computers. Nobody will be ABLE to speed. (so all you Tesla racers, enjoy the acceleration while you can - it's gonna end soon). Each automobile can have cameras INSIDE, which if deactivated or covered, the vehicle will not start. Phone taps? Hey, if you've got nothing to hide, there should be no problem, right? Did you notice at the 1:35 mark of the video? They started TRACKING EVERY CAR FROM THE PARKING LOT of a crime scene. Should they have tapped the phones in EVERY home (as well as cell phones) connected to each of those cars? Wouldn't that have been even quicker at solving the crime?
In response to your last question -- that gets to heart of the matter on a Constitutional basis. No expectation of privacy from the 4th Amendment when driving on public roads, and if a private property owner allows this kind of observation in their parking lots (or the City allows it in their parking lots), then there is not a 4th Amendment issue. Whereas we should all expect privacy when using our phones, which are our personal property and protected by the 4th Amendment. But yes, good questions about what the nature of self-driving cars will be in the future -- the things you detailed would be a concern with self-driving cars whether gas powered or electrically powered.
