I was born in hosapete just half km from this temple in ranipet where my grandfather lived he said that this temple has a special history.Once King Krishnadevaraya was returning to hampi from tirupati when lord venkateshwara appeared in front of him and asked him to build this temple and his will come as swayambhu idol and said him to not look back at tirupati till he goes back to hampi.On his journey to hampi he suddenly heard the sound of gejje from backside then he looked back and therefore no idol got placed in this temple.

This temple remember's me the Ananta Padmanaba Temple, Tiruvananthapuram, Kerala. I mentioned the similarity of both temple (it just my observation) 1) temple structure. 2) Garbagudi (both temple will see the god in 3 windows). But Kerala temple anatha padmanabha Murthy is small and we can't imagine 100 feet Murthy. But we are unlikely not having the Murthy.. but we could prevent this temple for future. Thank you for all information regarding the government rules on photography and videography.

What an amazing Temple. Maybe the Murthi was made of gold etc in sections and joined together inside the inner sanctum. Thanks for the video and tons of info about Hampi. Hope ASI and proper authorities will clean those bushes growing on those Temple structures. Hope local people make sure these holy sites will be preserved and protected for coming generations. These dynasties perished to rubble for the same reason we face it even today. We think their issues are different than ours but in fact for me it’s same. If these issues not solved now, interestingly and for sure history always repeats and the outcomes will be sad. there was no way such a huge idol would have been sculpted outside and brought inside.Ideally this should have been done first and then build the sanctum sanctorum. In that case, there must have been an idol isnt it?

Dear Sir, For a moment my heart stopped thinking you may not continue the Vlogging because of the incident. I also thought that you might loose your temper. Somehow you managed wonderfully and you have done your homework so meticulously, it is almost impossible to stop you from what you are doing. Very nice temple although it seems to have been not completed.

I could give one best example here; The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ranganatha, a form of the Supreme God, Maha Vishnu, located in Srirangam, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, India Moola Moorthi Sri Ranganatha is made up of cement covering 1008 Saligrams Similarly, in this temple, Vijayanagara emperor made a statue. You could see the three layers of Anand Nag, cement structure.

I have visited Somanathapura only after seeing your video on the monument even though I have visited mysore/bangalure many times. I am avid follower of history/ visitor of old monuments and I will be ever in debt to videos like these. Congratulations and please keep up the good work. We will fight for our rights to vidoegraph/photograph and take it to our coming generations as as at least they should know the value and presciousness of our ancestors skill and dedicated hard work.

I am seeing this temple since my childhood and most ignored in the list of hampi sightseeing. Around the temple land encroached and front view was covered until recent resurrection by ASI. Had it completed, it was biggest and finest temple in vijayanagar.

Hello Sudeesh, recently I tumbled upon your videos while searching something about srirangapatana & then hampi videos. I was born, grew up & educated in Bengaluru & left India 20 yrs ago worked & lived in US & now settled in vancouver Canada. While growing up we didnt get to travel much due to various reasons & still want travel all over India when its possible. I have to say that you have done a wonderful job of capturing historic places with good guides & special thanks to Mr Manjunath Gowda for his exceptional knowledge of history & his enthusiasm to explain. Kudos to both of you & my heartfelt thanks 😊 Many a times I felt as if I was walking & looking at things myself. You can do great educational videos about such historic places as it greatly helps school kids, college going or anyone interested in our history. You may want to try to take on sponsorships or any financial help when offered & if you want to pursue that as a profession, this is just my suggestion pl dont take it anyother way. All the best for you in the future 👏

If the proposed statue of Ananta shayana was moderate, the three entrance doors towards the garbha gudi would have been accordingly. As such it is to opine that the statue of the Ananta shayana was at the length of the extremity of the first and last doors. The ASI should probe into the case where the statue was shifted or explore the possibilities of the same being Buried underground like Beluru Halaybeedu temples. Anybody undertaking the project to explore will get credentials.

The king was asked by God in his dream to not to look back while carrying the statue towards temple, but due to strange sounds ( gajje sounds) he looked back and the statue vanished. I heard this from my Doddamma who stay here in Anchungudi village since 40 yrs. Just wanted to share with you.
