These girls are AMAZING. So much power! Seems like everyone is in good spirits and friends besides the opposite teams. This is so awesome to see. I really liked seeing the opposing team finish their stand and just be like “alright, you guys got it”
The cheerleaders in the MEAC and CIAA be really clowning…the other HBCU conference cheerleaders are just getting into these types of battles…up North, this has been going on for over 40 years…with social media, the rest of the country is finally getting exposed to it…when I saw Bring It On, the movie, I thought to myself, they must have gone to some basketball games in Virginia 😂😂
This is crazy. 1 of my childhood friend's little sister went off to Hampton University on a full scholarship and became a cheerleader. Today she is one the top Doctors at John Hopkins University Aka Sorority. It is crazy to think of her as a Doctor now because she annoyed my friend when she was little every chance she got but she was such a smart little snot even when she was 1 yrs old. just super smart
Now I remember this game I was on the floor next to the Legion Pep band and from my perspective C- Phi (Norfolk State) was giving Hampton all the smoke they wanted. I love Hampton didn’t back down. But when Norfolk went back to their respective sideline and Hampton advanced directly in front of where they were sitting it was a little too close for comfort. The tension was very thick and both coordinator’s had to coral their squads. I’ve never seen Hampton that aggressive. Something Norfolk has always been known to be. I tell you this Southside bout that life. Apparently the Peninsula is as well. 😂 #loveHBCUrivalries. It was a good performance by both squads. The crowd enjoyed it.
The Peninsula is just as “hood” as the Southside in Virginia….i remember almost 45 years ago in high school, Phoebus High School cheerleaders were cheering and dancing just like this and all the other schools had the traditional cheerleaders…now, everybody is dropping it like it’s hot when Phoebus High School was doing this 45 years ago and on the collegiate level, the WooHoo’s of Virginia State were the shiott…
This could turn ugly real fast!! A bunch of us in 1 place ( if you know, you know) and they rival too. Yeah Someone should stop this. But love the enthusiasm!! I seen one where howard, and hampton cheerleaders started squabbling!! 🥊🥊 but they fight all the time, thats like big bro, and lil bro squabbling 😂 and beofre Someone comes for me do i even know type shit. YES I WAS BORN THERE 103 15TH SE independence ave !! still have family there to this day DC WHAT UP!!
How are you going to stop when the other team is still going? I would not have stopped until time ran out that made them look like they could not hang.
As a former Norfolk State cheerleader (90's), this irritated me 😠🤣. My squad would've left it all on that court & destroyed them 😂! On our court, too?! Smt
The other angles I seen were dope and I was there and I for sure think NSU came with ALOT more energy then any previous years! Hampton kept going but I do not think crossing half court (very misconduct like) and throwing one 8 count then high stepping the whole time was a win.. As a cheer coach I definitely give it to NSU!
Norfolk State being Alumni of NSU I wish you cheerleaders would not do this with Hampton dancing like this but do cheers like cheerleaders suppose to do, this is no class for college cheerleaders doing this, sorry say this but stop it!!!!!
Times do change and also styles of dance cheerleaders abs ask that change with generations don't nobody want to do that stuff they was doing back then hell it wouldn't be no team
