Can’t agree more. I never truly recovered from my tier 2 hamstring injury fully. Also the psychological effect is terrible

Great vid, appreciate the effort you put. Just pulled my hammy today so this helps👍 If the below is true, could we self diagnose and modify our rehab to work either hip extension or eccentric knee extension more? If the hammy gets hurt during the late swing phase, that means the lower part of hamstring(knee flexors) is more injured. And if it gets hurt during the early stance phase, that would mean upper hamstring (hip extenders) is more injured

I blew out my hammy during a hard session in spikes...could barely walk in shoes. I then jogged slowly barefoot for 40 minutes and it cleared up 98% and was 100% in a few days, no problems since.

Hey Man, Can you explain more about what you did to recover so quickly? I've just pulled mine sprinting today
@terraflow__bryanburdo4547
@terraflow__bryanburdo4547 3 года назад
@@jamesmccarthy859 Pulls are a neuromuscular "mistake" and by slowly walking until I could do so without pain or limp, then progressing slowly to jogging then running, I was reprogramming the brain-to-motor neuron connections back to "factory reset". The key is BAREFOOT, as the foot and ankle are the key sensors that determine the reset. At the time I didn't think to walk or jog backwards but if it happened again I would integrate that as well. As a follow-up, deep massage trigger work will help sort out any remaining dysfunction.I have done this for decades so was able to self-treat. Now I always do some barefoot drills prior to sprinting. Also some short warmups on an incline or hill to properly align the system. At 64 still improving my sprints (not so hard when you have been a distance runner for way too long!).

@@terraflow__bryanburdo4547 Thank you for your reply. I pulled mine this morning did yours only take day's to recover? At the moment it's painful to walk it feels so tight, could you advise me on what you'd recommend please?
@terraflow__bryanburdo4547
@terraflow__bryanburdo4547 3 года назад
@@jamesmccarthy859 I had 98% recovery the first day, and the rest healed up over the next week. The key is to find a turf soccer or football field, loosen and stretch the feet and ankles a bit, and start walking laps barefoot. Don't try to stretch the hammy directly. As you get more confident, progress to jogging and running if possible, returning to a walk as necessary. If you don't have significant improvement after an hour, try again the next day. No ice, only movement and maybe heat prior to movement. I never took any anti-inflammatories, as they can mask critical sensory feedback. As always, make sure your diet has good electrolytes and animal-based quality protein, and low carbs to reduce inflammation, intermittent fasting will help healing also. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Hey dude, another great vid! I was looking for any info or advice you may have on shin bruising / pain from sprinting? I read about it and saw it may have something to do with how my feet strike the ground, particularly when the toe leads the strike. How does one change this to a more midsole type of strike? This just seems so hard, especially on sprints because it feels like the natural motion is to use more of the front of your foot 🤔

In a perfect world it would because it’s less mass to move, but some people feel depleted when they lose weight and end up performing poorly. If you’re avoiding junk food every night and your body naturally rests there, I think you should be fine. I’d suggest being as light as you can easily be, given that you don’t feel weaker at that lower weight. If you feel weak or tired then it’s too much or you lost it too quickly just by depleting glycogen.
