Really impressed how this turned out. Most other builds on YT start with a plastic toy, but this scratch build looks as good as those if not better. Nice!

Blown away by your scratch built blaster! (Pun possibly intended.) Seriously though! With all the modern talk of 3D printed parts (and having just recently purchased one) your clever, inventive, and dare I say ingenious use of everyday household objects, along with a base material method that also surprised me, very much spoke to my 12yr old model builder/ scratch builder soul! Very impressive results and worthy of the efforts. It appears to probably be a fairly robust object for cosplay/ enjoyment and able to stand up to a bit of abuse. (Can you tell I already broke the cone off of the flash suppressor of my newly purchased 3D printed one?!) It was my fault, I know, for mishandling it…but if still makes me sad. This was so cool to watch! Thank

James, Thank you so much for the kind words. This was such a fun project and yes it is very sturdy and holds up well. Your comments make me want to build another prop. Thanks again for watching. Crazy how a gun introduced in 1896 can look so futuristic, even nowadays. (Mauser C96) That looks great, good work man

Thanks! I’m still trying to find my niche. I love doing a variety of DIY projects and really don’t want to limit it to just building guitars.

That is a stupendous job! I very much like that it's achievable, even by those like me who don't have a bandsaw - a jigsaw should suffice for nearly everything.

Fantastic! I wish I had a dad like you when I was a kid. I ended up making my own stuff seeing as though we couldn’t afford the real toys. Back in the early 90’s I built the Aliens Pulse Rifle entirely out of thick card, it had the bullet counter & sounds of the gunfire taken from a tape recording off the movie. It would be absolutely amazing if you could build the pulse rifle in one of your vids!
@DIYGene

Mnomic, Thanks. I will have to look in to that pulse rifle. I remember that. Thanks again for watching.

A Harborfrieght vice may be cheap, but it works well. Just a heads up.

I am a big believer in Harbor Freight. Some of the tools at not be industrial, but for my needs they do the trick.

i know this is an older video but jeez it looks amazing great job. how much would you say you spent on materials if you don't mind me asking?
@DIYGene

It’s been a while and some of the parts are things I had sitting around, but I don’t think I spent more than $15 at Home Depot. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

I can tell the blaster is based off a Mauser c96 ww1 German pistol.

You are so correct! It was really funny looking at these so-fi Star Wars photos and seeing they used a WWII Mauser for the base. Good eye. Thanks for watching this video too.

What are the pvc clamps that you use to hold the pvc
@DIYGene
@DIYGene 4 года назад
They are just cheap little spring clamps from any hardware store. They are about $1 each. I hope that helps. Thanks for w.

The one you use to hold the pvc scope on the gun, but you change your mind on the pvc clamp
