"I almost jumped off the rock into the water then my buddy stopped me and said, "do you hear running water?" Then we started yelling for everyone to get out of the water and thankfully got everyone out. This video was 30 seconds after the last person got out of the water.

This should be shown on a safety video during the flight over to Hawaii. Honestly, before we moved here and truly understood the risk, we could have easily been victims of wind, waves, flash floods, etc. You just don't know the risks when you come to Hawaii as a visitor because that wouldn't sell trips now would it. Just sad though, that people lose their lives because they aren't educated about the risks.

Except every possible site about the rivers and alls mention flash flooding. If locals aren't there its probably a sign you shouldn't either...there should br videos but also tourists like to ignore warnings

Seriously, Maui is not Disneyland, several deaths in the last two weeks because people read a stupid tour book and didn’t listen to locals. There is a bill to require rescued parties pay the tab and we are all in favor of it. Enough already!

I really wanted to Hana and seen weather was bad due to rainy season and was really bummed I decided it’s an excuse to come back again. But this video snd the last two tourist who died in Hana made me feel better about my choice
