Many people make the mistake of only focusing on the face when they think about aging skin - when the neck, chest and even the hands and arms will quickly give away your age!
-------------------------------------------Skin Considerations------------------------------
*If you have darker skin on the fitzpatrick scale (4-6). *Olive or darker, or you are prone to PIH, please choose a LOWER % of acid such as the 13 or 20 and PRETREAT with a melanin inhibitor for 4+ weeks prior to a TCA peel. Please see this video: www.platinumskincare.com/body...
**If you have thinner or crepey skin always choose a milder % of TCA. We suggest the 13% for most. Please see this video: www.platinumskincare.com/body...
-------------------------------------------Skin Considerations------------------------------
Purchase your TCA 30% here: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-...|_Tutorial_|_Demonstration_|_TCA_30_versus_Glycolic_70#
Purchase your Glycolic 70% here: www.platinumskincare.com/glyc...|_Tutorial_|_Demonstration_|_TCA_30_versus_Glycolic_70#
Today I am going to talk about and demonstrate two different chemical peels that you can use on your hands and all over the body.
With the body, you will find that you need to apply a much stronger acid to get good results. This is because the skin on the body is literally five times thicker than that of the face and neck. *And the skin around the eyes is even thinner!
We have two acids we like to use on the body to help with pigmentation, moles, skin tags, scarring, crepey-ness and many other issues.
They are
TCA 30% **20% is also an option and may be preferred if you have very dark skin.
And
Glycolic 70%
Both of these acids are great choices when you want to treat the body. Out of the two, the TCA 30% is the strongest.
Warnings and recommendations.
Always pre-treat your skin before a body peel. You have many layers of dead skin that will slow the acid’s penetration. Use a daily acid wash like our 15% Body Wash www.platinumskincare.com/glyc...|_Tutorial_|_Demonstration_|_TCA_30_versus_Glycolic_70#
and / or a cream like our 25% Triple Treat Body Lotion www.platinumskincare.com/trip...|_Tutorial_|_Demonstration_|_TCA_30_versus_Glycolic_70# every day for about 2 weeks prior to your peel application.
If you are dealing with sun damage, melasma or have a naturally darker skin tone, pretreat the area with Fade Bright www.platinumskincare.com/?utm...|_Tutorial_|_Demonstration_|_TCA_30_versus_Glycolic_70# fade-bright-lightening/ or another melanin inhibitor for 2 weeks minimum - prior to performing a peel.
*You will also want to do this after your peel has rinsed to help with pigmentation.
Do not apply these acids on, or near mucus producing areas.
Watch the video for step by step instructions. Never worry, when you purchase your peel our Peel Manual has full instructions as well.

I mentioned this in another comment to you - but I don't know where you purchased your peel - but I am going to assume that if it was that painful - the percentage you THINK you purchased - and what you really received - are two different things. If you are purchasing off ebay or amazon - those are NOT safe. Purchase from someone like Platinum Skin Care or another reputable company that will give you a professional, certified product.

For what I learned about doing tca peel on my body is the reaction is totally different from the face it takes longer for the skin to peel the full process is about a month, I may think 30 % could be too strong better to start with lower % for the first time around 15/18 % one layer to see how the skin react to. But definitely tca on the body is very good, to be honest I just did it yesterday on me.
@PlatinumSkinCare
@PlatinumSkinCare 5 лет назад
alan wisdom 30% is quite mild on the body. We do recommend only a 20% if you have more melanin rich skin though. And always pretreat if you do with a melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright to help reduce the likeliness of PIH.
@alanwisdom7777
@alanwisdom7777 5 лет назад
@@PlatinumSkinCare frankly with 30 % I don't had good results on the body my skin reacted very strangely, this even left me spots on one arm, which I could make disappear with other peel, I have a very good results with 15/20 % on the body, on the face I can handle 40 % tca with no problems with flawless results. This is why I recommend to start with low percentage to see how the skin react to avoid problems.

I have done the 30% TCA on my lower legs two weeks ago and they just started peeling. Knowing then what I do now, there is no way I would’ve done a body peel in the summer as your skin looks like hell for weeks plus it’s more of a challenge to keep it covered and protected. I think doing them as often as possible during the cooler months make more sense, that way you can get ready to unveil your younger looking self in the spring! Edited to add: You should be prepared that during the peeling process, you’ll be shedding slabs of skin everywhere, your sheets, furniture, floors, the inside of your pants, so you definitely are better off doing these in the cooler months when those flakes stay inside your clothes. It’s pretty gross.

Hello , I have lots of dead skin all over my body that looks dirty in certain areas. I have tried absolutely everything even peels in the past. What would you recommend to try for neck, stomach, underarms and butt areas?
@PlatinumSkinCare
@PlatinumSkinCare 5 лет назад
It definitely sounds like you need more exfoliation *as well as possibly a melanin inhibitor and some SPF every day. I recommend Triple Treat 25% Body Lotion every day and a monthly body peel. The TCA 20% is good for ethnic skin types and darker skin, and the TCA 30% is good for very light skin. Expect it to take a couple of weeks to start seeing real improvements with just daily treatments. The peels will speed it up.

You generally won't get any peeling with the body until a couple of weeks later. Most people are fine to swim a few days later. You do want to avoid heavy sweating though with intense exercise. That is to stop the sweat from becoming trapped below the skin that has not flaked away yet.

You recommended to wait atleast a month - one month since the day we started prepping the skin or since the day we apply the peel or since the day first peel completes? Oh and should we prep the skin for 2 weeks even if the second peel is soon after a month? Please reply, thanks!
@PlatinumSkinCare
@PlatinumSkinCare 3 года назад
Hello. You will always be prepping for another peel. Use the Triple Treat body lotion or Body wash to get extra exfoliation into your daily regimen. The skin takes much much longer to flake than a face peel. It could be 10-14 days before you see any dryness or flakes. 30 days to 35 days and your skin should be back to normal again. Don't do another peel until that is complete 100%.

I would like to try a chemical peel on the PIH but am deathly afraid of making the PIH worse but also want an effective peel to speed up the process! Hello. Jessners is an excellent acid choice when targeting pigmentation specifically. I would start with about 3 layers the first time to see how that goes. Next month you can add on more layers. 4-5 and work up from there each month as you move forward. TCA is another great option... and Jessner and TCA can also be used together with Jessners going on first and then the TCA. I would suggest only a couple of layers of Jessners and then a couple of the TCA 20 when you have worked up to that. ***Be sure to try each individually prior before combining them to check for any reactions.

Just to clarify does a TCA help with post acne hypopigmentation, not hyper.
@PlatinumSkinCare
@PlatinumSkinCare 5 лет назад
WaterspoutsOfTheDeep hypOpigmentation will just have to balance out naturally. It is a complete loss of melanin. Most of the time damages like that are from the sun. No peel can make your skin start to generate melanin again. We generally recommend Copper Serums to those with issues like this due to the fact that they help to regenerate skin tissues. I can’t guarantee that it will work though. If you are interested in that, see this product here: www.platinumskincare.com/copper-super-cp-serum/ Or this one is strongest. www.platinumskincare.com/copper-super-cop-2x/

Thank you SO much! That is the goal here with our videos. Bras and clothing will not cause any issues at all. The back will barely register any irritation. I have had jessners + TCA in at least 4 layers on my back and felt NOTHING at all. ... NOW, after a week or so you will be VERY itchy! As the skin is drying and getting ready to flake off you will feel intense dryness and itching. I used my back brush GENTLY in the shower to get a bit of a scratch and had to apply lots of emu oil to help calm the itchiness. Deodorant is fine - even if you did your underarms. I would try one that isn't liquid though so it doesn't burn in any way. A nice natural one would be a good choice.

Pat Gheen I suggest that you begin with one layer of the 20% on your chest. The skin on the neck and chest is thicker than the face - but not nearly as thick as the rest of the body. See what you get with one layer, and next time add another if you feel it is necessary. *With the face, remember you will go up to 5 layers before moving to the 20%.

You can use Dream Peel on smaller body parts such as the hands or arms. I would NOT spread that high of a percentage of a retinoid on large body parts. It is too much for the body to process correctly. You may definitely use retinaldehyde as an alternative. Our Luminosity is a .50% of all-trans retinol.

Hi Jennifer, another question for you. I have been using mandelic 22% on my face with no peeling, do you think I could switch to Glycolic peel 50%? Or should I start at 30 or maybe 70%?? Its confusing 😊 Also I want to do my chest and arms, can I start with a TCA 20% or should I start with 13%?? I don’t really want flaking in my face but on my chest and arms I don’t mind. Thank you 😍
@PlatinumSkinCare
@PlatinumSkinCare 4 года назад
Mandelic 22 isn't going to cause much flaking at all. That is the normal behavior of that acid and percentage. The 40% will cause more. Sure you can switch to the glycolic. I would say the 50% will give you some decent flaking. Not the 70%. That is for the body. I would suggest the 13% TCA for the face/neck/chest. The 20% can be used on the rest of the body - as could the 30%.

Yes it is safe. Depending on your skin coloring ... if it is very light, the TCA would be an excellent action. I would suggest TCA 20 at 1-2 layers. ***IF your skin is ethnic (darker) then you would need to pre-treat with a melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright or hydroquinone. This will help to prevent PIH after a deeper peel. Another option would be the Jessners peel as well.

I suggest that you choose the lesser percentage with your skin type then. Use the TCA 20% as opposed to the 30% for any skin that is getting thinner. You will only do a peel 1x per month, so this exfoliation won't harm your skin. In all actuality the peel will stimulate your skin to produce new, healthier skin and will aid in stimulating collagen to plump. I suggest 2 layers to start off with. It would be best if you prepped with an acid serum or our Triple Treat body lotion first - you will get a more even result with your acid application.

Hi there. Stretch marks are scars... so yes peels can help. We suggest a series of TCA peels and the Super Cop 2x. It doesnt have to be the 30%.... 20% will do at a couple of layers. Your skin color plays a big part. If you have ethnic skin the lower percentages are safer and pretreatment with a melanin inhibitor would be required for 3-4 weeks. Darker skin requires longer treatment and lower percentages.

1. That depends on your skin's coloring. If your skin is Olive or darker .. you need to Prep with a melanin inhibitor for 4 weeks and then use a milder % of TCA. 2. We do not want you to apply 2 coats of TCA 30%. .. Maybe, maybe after several peels you can attempt this, but NEVER as a first use. I suggest starting off with the Super Cop 2x to treat burns/scars. Triple Treat is very strong though .. so start off with only a few times per week, and add on as your skin tolerates. SPF 50 would be mandatory.

You can apply it after rinsing and for the next day or two. ....longer if you wish.

Bonjour ,une fois les tâches pigmentaires disparues, peux t-on se ré-exposer au soleil, sans qu'elles ne reviennent ? J'ai fais mon peeling il y a 1 an. Merci

You will ALWAYS want to use an SPF when you are in the sun or yes... the spots can definitely come back. The sun's rays are what cause most of the spotting to happen. More sun = more spots.

Secondly, I bought a Jensser's 14% peel but based on this video, I guess it won't work :(. I just wanted to be on the safe side so I bought that one. Can I still use it thought? I have graduation in less than 2 weeks and I wanted to wear an open back dress but I have some spots...does it makes sense to start?

Most likely this will give you too much flaking that will take anywhere from 5-10 days to finish.

I’ve applied tca 20 on my hand but i didn’t see any frosting after 5 min. should i apply another layer??

Most likely you will not see frosting with only a few layers of TCA 20 on the body. That is perfectly fine. That is just so you know its possible - not neccesary.

Hello HypOpigmentation does not have a treatment. It is a LOSS of pigmentation. Very common with birth control use and sun damage. I am sorry but I have nothing to help here. :(

Having purple toned stretch marks, but I am pale. 2 or maybe a 3 on the scale. Is the Fade Bright still recommended before and after the body peel? Also, should I apply the peel with a q-tip following the purple stretch marks, or apply evenly over my stomach, and then another layer with the q-tip over those darker stretch marks? would 30% be too strong for the first time? Thank you!!!

Body peels are 1x per month. With your lighter skin you should be ok to use the TCA 20%. If you want to use the 30%, I would suggest using a melanin inhibitor for a couple of weeks first. I would start off just treating the scars themselves. After a couple of peels then, go ahead and do the entire area to keep everything even.

But, really do not expect a huge difference on stretch marks. I would consult a professional. They are very stubborn.

Hi. Thanks for the video. If you do a second layer of 30%, do you have to rinse the first layer off first with the ice water and then apply a second layer? Or do you just put the second layer directly on top of the first layer after the 5 minutes?

After ... After you have done at least 4+ TCA 30 peels on your skin at ONE layer ... then, you can consider adding on a 2nd layer. This is a HUGE jump! So be sure it is not too wet. Just wait the 5 minutes ... if you are NOT frosted/blanched ... you can apply that 2nd layer. Most like you will frost immediately. Let that go and rinse after 5 minutes with cold water. Apply healing products.
