In today's video I make a tall ceramic gnome with a curly beard. He turns out to look more like a wizard at the end. I used something like a playdough spaghetti extruder to create the beard. I also had to pour any glaze that was used on the beard to keep from breaking the small pieces. This was a fun experiment. I made two more like this, but my kiln is too small to glaze fire them.

Omg girrrl!! This is sooo fun! Try to find some different sizes of styrofoam cones! They would work perfectly for making these so you could make sets!! You’re so dang creative! Keep going!!!

Thank you so much. Yeah I should have gotten the cone for it, but I was impatient and tried to make the template and do everything the hard way. 😂 Now that i accomplished the hard way I can do more the easy way. Lol. I know I’m so backwards.

Love it! For those of us just starting out in pottery would you please tell us the process behind glazing starting with a darker color to a lighter color? I am in the process of researching the different techniques but was curious about the way you glazed the hat and coat. Thank you. :)

Thank you. I will do my best to better explain my glazing in the future. I can do a few videos on the glazing process.
