Abner's Boy I was at that infamous 2009 Detroit PT show. Same thing happened. It was very weird compared to what I witnessed in Cincinnati the night before.
Probably still in my top 10 albums ever..the sound the lyrics the music the concept..hits different..and cant hear it always must be mentally stable enough for it
Can you imagine being married to Ninet and getting that sweet voice yelling "you never listen to me!" , "you didn't get the trash out last night!" . I think I'm in love
Kinda wish he'd have let Ninet take a verse. Back in March 2016 at the Beacon Theater in NYC, SW lost his voice during the day due to a nasty cold, so Ninet and Dave Kilminster (the previous touring "lead guitarist" who was on most of the H.C.E. tour) covered most of Steven's vocal parts... and Ninet tore into this song like it'd been written for her. Did the verses and first chorus at the same pitch as Steven would have, but on the second chorus she went soaring up an octave (to where she sings backup in this video); totally owned the crowd at that moment.
I got lucky in Albany a night before or after that too. Steven took the entire 2nd set off for singing and Ninet literally sang an entire hour set herself. It was quite something.
@@Andreas_Music -- unless they've been deleted, there may still be one or two audience-smartphone videos from the Beacon show somewhere on YT; I know I've seen a couple, of Ninet's renditions of HCE and Routine. Not great quality, but it's cool to hear her rip into HCE and listen to the audience response.
The dudes well of creativity runs very deep. And to surround himself with stellar players. It is true great music is out there, it may not be the exceptional 70's era but it is there to find a big big train.
I've been in a last tour concert in Israel, one of the best live shows I've ever visited . Thank you Mr.Wilson and I have to say, Ninet is the perfectly matched the "role" !
I love this tune. I love the original video, too. But this one lends a great new dynamic to the song. Steven is such a master of his craft, and I always enjoy seeing him perform with Ninet. Thanks for posting!
Together we Have this love Even so It's not enough Bruised and burned We won't lose heart And just because Life gets hard Writing lying E-mails to our friends back home Feeling guilty If we sometimes wanna be alone Hand cannot Erase this love Hand cannot Erase this love And a love like this Makes us strong We laugh it off When things go wrong It's not you Forgive me if I find I need more space 'Cause trust means we Don't have to be together everyday Hand cannot Erase this love Hand cannot Erase this love Hand cannot Erase this love Hand cannot Erase this love
You guys think the crowd was DEAD but actually they're true Prog Rock fans ! how to be prog rock fan 1. the genre it self is for listening not dancing 2. try to feel through the lyrics and instruments 3. listening with respect 4. this genre is art maybe listening it with our intelligence and stay focus you can watch Yes's audience and tell me how you feel lol
It's funny, I don't remember making this comment. I had the Blu-ray on launch, so I knew this was a sound check and there was no crowd, so I can only surmise that I was -trying- to be funny but not quite executing. I guess there is some humour in my failure!
