In this video we go Diving for Scallops and Lobster off the beach in winter. The shells are particularly beautiful from this location. Enjoy the video!
I specially like this video because it shows that the ecological responsibility is on the attitude of each one of us. There was no frustration or disappointment by coming home without any lobsters in the bag. In my opinion this is one of the videos that shows the true spirit of the art of Spearfishing. Thank you for sharing it.
Tantalising glimpse of the Landy there Joe😆. Love it-well done for modelling the conservation ethos in real life; I can’t watch Spearos who just seem to hit everything they see. Top work👍.
Great video Joe I moved to Exmouth in June 2021 and love the sea so much i have filmed a few video under water on my channel since being down hear and am very much looking forward to filming more and finding scallops and lobsters this Spring and Summer :-)
Just love the scenery and beauty showcased in everyone of your videos! The scallops looked delicious and your children are beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
2m viz, lapping wavelets, blue sky... Dream conditions anytime in mid-Wales🤣. Float set-up, Lobster psychology and enviro' responsibility bits brilliant. Such enthusiastic children too; your videos should form part of school curriculum Joe👍👍.
I'm an existing freediver but new to hunting scallop and lobster. Just got my seven and devon licence but really have no idea what areas to hunt. Is there a typical depth or area type you would find scallop? I'm in the east devon region. Any help would be appreciated. 😊
@@JoePkSpearfishing yeah I went to the point in the summer, got a lovely bass witching the fist ten minutes being out there(2.5 pounds). Came out the water when the sun was setting and that was spectacular 👍
@@JoePkSpearfishing yeah very fruitful on the rod and spear there too in the summer, the winter produces some goods just not in the form of fish(like this video) you don’t always have to go and catch a fish in my opinion sometimes the simple things like just getting out there 😁
As always a superb video and another great scrumptious meal by yourself and Barclay. Have you ever thought of doing a shoredive with a polespear. Thanks again lads and stay safe.👍
Really enjoyed this one Joe. Great to see some shore dive action. If there's some bad viz and you find yourself with some time on your hands, I'd love to see a vid going in depth on your shore dive set up, maybe some tide awareness, safety, etc!
Like the video. Question what mil suit were you wearing and Barkley top I have been looking at that suit what does he think of it and is it big in sizing looking at their charts it says I am a large but in Cressi suit I am xl?
Hi James the suit is excellent quality. If you need further details I would recommend calling BArcley his number is on the website www.spearfishingstore.co.uk/
Great to see start point lighthouse again and the beach you went from was my old stomping ground must get back down Wonderful video as usual. I use to have land rovers but alas found them too unreliable and since purchased a L200 barbarian for towing the boat and shooting trips Keep up the great work, can't wait until this damn lockdown ends
@@JoePkSpearfishing sure is Joe but there is still something special about old landies and ideal around those tight Devon lanes, don’t fancy my nice red paintwork all scratched
Brilliant video yet again dude, getting me excited! I'm moving to Cornwall in April with my family as the missus has landed a new job down there. Can't wait to have some fresh seafood more regularly 😁😁
Great catch & cook again guys. 👍. P.s. I done my own fish and chips the other night using Barcleys recipe from ep9 and it was so good my wife has ordered some more Cod for me to do it again! 👍😋
Another great video. Never knew the law about scallop collection 7pm - 7am. Is there a reason for this? Does it apply throughout the year. Thanks again for sharing
I have no idea!! Like how you cannot spearfish at night but you can fish with rod and line. It's under time restrictions on the permit and applies throughout the year. Thanks Pete
My usual comment of how fantastic your videos are and how much I enjoy them, comes at the price of a question this time. Can you tell me if night spearfishing is currently illegal in Devon as it is in Cornwall? Cheers.
Night spearfishing is illegal across the UK (or at least it was last year and we seem to be rolling over the same rules). Nothing stopping you using your dive knife for flatties or picking up 🦞 and 🦀 Didn’t know about the scallop rule!
@@mackerellfish42 Cheers mate. Think it’s a stupid rule personally. The vast majority of spearos, would follow the same code of just taking what they needed regardless of the time of day or night. And the irony being that the people the law was designed to protect the fish from, will be the kind of people who will ignore the law anyway, so the law achieves nothing as far as protecting fish imo.
Thanks Eric. In February I plan to make a longer episode which covers being safe. Really you need a minimum 5mm for UK waters when diving. Barcley runs www.spearfishingstore.co.uk/ give him a call for any advice on 07918612234 you will be in safe hands 👍
Hey Joe, First of all, thanks for the chill videos that u share! Love the vibe. I am also try to guess that rope system that you use on your weight belt. I also use elastic rope my in an different way. Can you please share a picture or explanation? Cheers from Portugal!
@@JoePkSpearfishing It's in Latvia. Mostly we spearfish in fresh water cause we don't have a lot of live in the Baltic sea. There are 2 good months to do sea spearfishing, it's May and June.
I wanted to wait till 10am to have my b-fast but after yr vid i started to eat now 😀 Ireland still locked 5km from house i feel like i killed some1 and doing time in jail now.. insane man i cant even go to the sea or travel anywere .
