Hand-feeding Birds in Slow Mo - Mourning Dove, Downy Woodpecker 

The Downy looks so offended that the Mourning Dove landed on *his* hand, LOL!

omgosh The Downy's reaction is killin' me, such a hoot!

The small bird is like ‘what the fuck , I came first!!’

As a person with PTSD, I have found therapy in wildlife photography (stills only) but this is another level completely for when the weather keeps me at home... thank you again!

Ha ha, I just love the way that woodpecker looks when the dove flies in, it watches every morsel of food it takes, " here, it's had 3 peanuts now, blessed cheek" !

Oh gosh. Birds are so beautiful. I love them and the little woodpecker is so hilarious in this video. The looks from him/her to a totally uninterested dove is like a little cartoon story. I've never seen a Woodpecker or a mourning dove. In UK I often hear woodpeckers but they aren't easily seen.

I laughed at the Downy Woodpecker through the entire feeding !! His expressions were too funny. Loved it !!

That is absolutely amazing! What an beautiful experience to hand feed them. I am used to hand feeding Hummingbirds but I never imagine feeding doves or other birds.

Mourning doves are notoriously mean to each other and to other birds. I have seen them pull out chunks of feathers. I agree with the downy to be wary.

I love the fortitude of this precious birder!!! I am little but mighty!

Pigeons will eat ALL food, leaving nothing for small birds. I guess Dove is similar to pigeon

I'm not fond of Mourning Doves, they are vacuum cleaners with wings. All the other birds take a peanut and fly off, the doves just suck up every seed within three minutes! But I just loved the Downie's reaction when the dove gobbled up that first peanut and went for more. 😄😄😄😄
