What will we catch in our new Lobster pots? We love working a small number of lobster pots from our small family boat. Such a wonderful and rewarding experience that often brings delicious rewards. Hauling our lobster traps by hand makes it all the more worthwhile when you catch something to eat. Join me as I check out pots and talk you through the things we catch. Including conservation regulations that are in place in Cornwall.
Don't forget to check out our sister channel‪@thefishlockerworkshop‬ helpful reviews and videos.

What a beautiful video. My Dad didn't like fishing much but he used to take us because my Brother and I loved it. He bought us a boat when we were in our early teens and now he's no longer with us I miss him terribly. I have a video on my channel of me fishing with my daughter when she was little and that was precious time. She's 19 now! Fishing is a past time which family can do together and your video brought a tear to this grizzled old prop's eye. Thank you so much.

Take any "grown up" and put them in an unfamiliar environment and there's not a lot of difference. 🙃 Reckon you're doing it right.

24:10 Hello fellow fishermen. Greetings from New Zealand. So nice watching your videos, and it is so nice to see you teaching James. In Gisborne on the Eastern North Island of NZ, we don't have lobsters like you do, but we have crayfish, and our main fishing species are snapper, groper, kingfish and pelagic species including kahawai and other natives. I was so excited to see you crimping the barbs on your circle hooks. We have used barbless j hooks and circle hooks for nearly fifteen years, and we get 20% discount on our recreational fishing permits. Surprisingly, companies are manufacturing barbless hooks up to 30mm shank width. Fortunately, where we fish, it is flat sandy bottom and shallow about 65 meters max. and about 20 miles off shore. Good luck to both you and James. Love your videos. When we go out that far we take two boats minimum for safety reasons. Bless you and safe fishing.

Received a one clawed lobster in last order from a fish company. Huge black hole where it should have existed. Wish the company hadn't sent it me as lobsters are expensive, plus it turned my stomach. Re the octopuses, can't they be eaten/exported? I'm maybe weird in that I'd prefer an octopus over a lobster. (sorry, editing as I watch the video progress :) )

It's been so fun watching James grow up and get to know more and more. His instinct to grab the tape measure, so cute.
