Another excellent video! Thanks to instructions in your prior videos, I made 20 beanies for my family recently. The decreased hand knit crown is preferred. Love the skullcap version. In addition, FlexiFlip needles work great for the decrease rows. (P/u 24 sts on 1st needle; 22 on 2nd.)
Thank you so much for this video. I knit hats for charity and have been looking at the circular knitting machine to speed up the process, however, I wasn’t a fan of the cinched top. After watching your video I am going to go ahead and purchase the machine.
hi there, I love your videos! Thank you. I am left handed. When the knitting comes off of the machine, and transferred to knitting needles, it is in position for right handed knitters, but i am left handed. How do I get around this problem?
I am an experienced knitter and just 2 months ago I started to use my Addi 46 which has been resting in my closet for some years now. I have made lots of beanies for the family and always thought the crown is very clustered, especially if you used some thicker yarn. Thank you so much for illustrating different methods of how to bind off. Very helpful. I am still learning how to get all the potential that the Addi can do. Thank you
This was an excellent tutorial. I had never understood how to use the magic loop until I saw this demonstration. I really found the video inspiring and will give this ago when my Tendro arrives. Keen to watch more of your videos now and have subscribed. Thank you.
Great video! Love how detailed and thorough you are in your instructions. Quick question- Would it be beneficial to finish both ends of the tubes using the magic circle technique?Would it get rid of even more bulk or would it not really matter and be a waste of time and energy?
Great video! I especially appreciate the way you work magic loop by pulling some back stitches onto the right needle... Makes it so much easier to start the next route with good tension! Most of all, i really liked your alternative methods shown at the end. Brilliant!
I use US10 or 6mm circular needles in a 40" length for magic loop (like in the video). I would recommend Chiaogoo, Knit Picks, Knitters Pride or Addi. The cable are easier to work with than other brands and they way they connect the needles are smoother. You can also get double point needles in US10 or 6mm if you prefer.
This is great. I appreciate your tutorial. I just got a request for a beanie to be worn under a construction hat. This will fit the bill. How many machine knit rows do you suggest for an average male?
Thank you very much for the video. Your work is always very nice and easy to understand. Is there a way to achieve this type of decrease using crochet?
Hi Mary, I love your work and have your cheat sheet. You are very patient and an excellent teacher. I don’t know how to knit but love the look of the knit. I do have a Sentro and a small Addi. Is there anyway this lovely method can be done by crocheting it? Please, thank you! 🥰
You did a 5 row decrease so as to round off the top of the hat but I notice it still had a bit of gather at the very top. You could have, maybe, done another 2 or 3 rows of decreases and it would have been completely rounded at the top. Thanks for the video.
