Hand-making Silver Lockets Using A Hydraulic Press

This video is a way for me to share the process I use to craft unique lockets. I use the hydraulic press to create vintage designs in 3D silver and then dome them front and back as matched sets. The fabrication process is fairly standard, but I try to illustrate key steps that are used.

I wonder if you could dome it using a wooden dapping block without ruining the impression? Also the Profesional edition of The Complete Metalsmith has more detailed info I think. I have both but I haven't looked at them in a little while!

Thanks. This design I am sure you could do e in the standard way. Many you could not though.

Thanks. I have the capability to go 20-25 tons but typically am only pressing at 5-15. Being clever with pushers and concentrating force is more important tat tonnage

I had surgery on my left hand and it is very difficult to hold my metal while sawing. I'm interested in the bench pin you are using if you would be kind enough to share.
