Like many traditional songs, "Hand Me Down My Walking Cane" predates Tanner and was part of the folk and bluegrass tradition. It has been covered by numerous artists since then, becoming a staple in American old-time music. The original version was recorded in 1926 on Columbia Records with Riley Puckett on guitar.
Here I play with my friend Davide Facchini. Check out his project with Anita Camarella on Italian swing and more: ‪@anitadavideduo‬

Mike said that was one of the first bluegrass songs he ever learned, when he was about 16 years old! Brought back memories ❤!
