I don't wanna be "that guy" but anyone out there painting these, if you're using glass ornaments do NOT stick your finger in the hole. Sometimes the rims get small cracks or are rough and you can cut yourself pretty badly (I've been there!). The plastic kind should be okay. I suggest a rubber glove if you need to hold it that way using glass ones.

That wasn't Mistletoe but Holly. Holly is a tree and does well in cooler climates, but you might find some people have it as an ornamental in their garden. Mistletoe has white balls and isn't spiky. It's not as fashionable to use anymore, especially because I don't think it can be grown commercially. It grows as a parasite on top of trees and it's very poisonous. It also grows further north.

I was literally just sitting here stressing about what to get for my family members for Christmas! I wanted to do something personal, but nothing too expensive, and I’ve been needing to get out of my paint funk for months now. Then this popped up like the lightbulb above my head that I needed! This reminded me so much of my childhood. When I was younger my mom would buy these glass ornaments and take off the tops and we would put a more fluid acrylic paint on the inside of the ball, add the top back on, and shake it! The entire inside of the glass ornament would be a solid color but also still look like glass. Then we would draw on the outside of them (or 9 year old me added glitter of course). Thanks for unlocking this childhood memory of mine!

Hi! I love your work so much! Though if you want to find mistletoe your gonna have to look for a completely different plant! 😄 what you painted was, very pretty, holly. Mistletoe has round leaves and white berries!

The red and white mushrooms like to grow around birch trees so that might be something to look out for (beech and oak trees are also pretty good places to look)

Of you cut the fabric on the diagonal, instead of straight on the grain, it won't shed little bitty threads everywhere, and instead fray very little. The grain is the direction the threads go, if you look closely you can see one set of threads going lengthwise, and another going across. The ornaments were lovely

I would use a thick dowel / or stick wrapped into cloth to stick the ornament on in order to paint them. Thank you for the good ideas!

These are all so pretty! They're definitely such a unique way to decorate. I actually got clear glass ornaments last year thinking I'd paint them, but I ran out of steam and ended up filling them with white feathers instead.

I think tearing the fabric for the ties would be stunning! You start by making a small cut, then you tear and it will have a frayed rustic edge. That won’t be everyone’s style, but I think it could look really beautiful! 💕

To cut cloth in strips they have a roller cutter that kinda looks like a pizza cutter but then you can just hold your ruler and follow the line :)

I absolutely adore your videos Jenny!! Your art inspires me 😊! Also I wanted to tell you that mistletoe grows in a circular ball shape up in trees. They have white berries and are actually invasive to trees. Holly has the red berries and grows as holly bushes or holly trees! I hope you get to see a red mushroom as well! Mostly they are poisonous to humans but not most animals! Thank you for your video!! Happy fall!!

Those red spotted mushrooms are called Amanita muscaria . I lived in a rainforest in southeast Alaska for 23 years we were blessed to see these guys often... love your videos💜

For cutting the cloth put it on a cutting mat, use a ruler as a guide and cut up against the ruler while holding it down with a fabric blade!

Finding some nice ribbon would be easier than the fabric cutting. I LOVE your art and this was a great idea for gifts. Happy holidays!!

these are all beautiful! To cut your fabric a little easier you could use a rotary cutter and a ruler to hold it down in place. you will need a mat underneath the fabric if you cut it this way though, I generally use a sewing mat or a self healing mat. Kind of an investment but worth it if you plan to get into more fabric things!

The red, spotted mushroom is Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria). :) You can find them under oak and some evergreens a couple days after rain.

Oh this is so inspiring! I like using acrylic primer before the paint and I apply it with a sponge cause I like the texture. Painted some white clouds on a blue sky on some plastic baubles last year and I liked them a lot. Would it work the same on glass? I'm not a fan of glass baubles cause stuff tends to break around my house. And instead of sticking your pinky in the hole, why not paint the part under the hanging piece at the end, after everything else is dry? You could even use a different color. Oh gosh, gotta go take out my paints and every boring looking bauble! I also feel guilty that I'm getting into the Christmas mood so soon and I haven't been able to enjoy autumn to its fullest but I think I'll do both! A bauble here, a mushroom there... 😄

Use a rotary cutter to cut the fabric strips! Waaaaaay easier. You can just line the ruler up and use it as a guide while you cut.

Oh, never mind. You talk about the fabric...you cut fabric using a roller type knife, and a glass mat...I'm pretty sure. Well done!
