messrsinferno Good catch :) It was late while I was filming and I wasn’t paying attention. They’re in correctly now, fixed that when I went to try them out.
Good job. The blues and reds look particularly good ... I have an old Handyman I've never messed with, and the colors look relly close. What colors did you use (and from where)?
Jim K As far as the black colors on other planes, the finish used on them is called “Japanning” and is a little harder to find. I used a cheapo gloss black enamel I had lying around. Have to buy online basically. For the blue, it’s rustoleum 7723 Navy, though I’d go a shade darker if I did it again. The red is rustoleum 7762 Sunrise Red. The primer was rustoleum 7769830 rusty metal primer. You want an enamel gloss paint, lay it on thick in 2-3 coats less than an hour between each, and don’t touch it for 3-4 days. Best way to get that almost candy finish on these sorts of parts. Thanks for watching!
