handbrake lever sloppy and causing park brake lamp on instrument pack to be illuminated, so thought will check the handbrake cables and callipers for any faults before carrying out adjustment to the handbrake cable,
Great to see you Alan, that's the kind of jobs I like to do on my car, looking forward to your rusty van video trust me i had a Nissan Serena i know all about rust.😀
I was worried about you Alan 😸😸. Keep the videos coming. They give awful trouble the auris and avensis calipers. They need to be maintained at every service..
Good to see your professional approach. You could have said. You need a new hand brake cable, pads, disks blah, blah. But you are so bloody honest! Great. I drive a Mk 3 Mondeo 2L Duretec estate. It is a great car.
Thank you again Alan, a very well explained diagnosis, especially the set up underneath. The mercedes vans only come in one colour & thats a light shade of rust!!!! I know what I think of merc vans. I've had 6 ranging from a 1982 307 right up a 2012 313 sprinter & they all ended up covered in scabs on every body panel, well engineered & very reliable but I'd had enough of the rust so I changed to transits after that!! Looking forward to the next one & your honest opinion, as always
Nice to see something new Alan; great content as always. I wondered what Steve's are going to replace their taxis with once the Mondeo is pulled. Will it be something Toyota based?
Well mr. Alan , it would appear your a born lever puller ( liver pooler? ) . Not actually being familiar with the rear brake pad replacement procedure , I’ll just guess the adjustment was backed off for rear caliper removal ? As far as “ BS “ video , anything is welcome . Thank you for the little hello from / with dearest lady Monica ❤️ . Always looking forward to your next video . Taaa Raaa ! ✌🏻
Alan, how about a video on why Ford were wrong to discontinue the Mondeo ? In the past you have said that the Mondeo became too expensive, but is to quote my boss (who bought a Vignale when his VW died), "It is a lot of car for the money !". Everything else of a similar size is a lot more expensive !
Sales had disappeared. They only sold about 3000 Mondeo's in the UK last year. Everybody ( except me😉) is driving SUVs. It's not worth their while to keep making them.
@@steverpcb Those that were sold were SUVS. Sales of all saloon cars have been drifting down for years and if you look at Mondeo sales they have only been going one way. Mk 4 and 5 sales were far less than Mk1-3 even before the pandemic. You only need to look at the traffic on the roads to see that.
As allways - nice to see you, and nice content. I have a question about the mondeo mk5 dpf - did you have any problems with those? Od so a video on that would be nice
Great to see you Alan! This is EAGLE from Buddygo. We are a car product service company, we mainly produce the car Cabin Air Filter for cars. My purpose of contacting you is to seek business cooperation, and I look forward to your reply. best wishes
With that much to tighten up on the cable and with it being an ex taxi I would be suspicious the cable hadn't stretched and or started to fray despite its free movement, but on both sides is strange, wonder if its had new back brakes ?
Great to see you back again Alan, I'm missing the Mondeo content, but I do enjoy these workshop tales. I quite like Toyota cars, have owned a couple in the past, always found them reliable and easy to maintain. You did seem to be getting a little too excited when testing the handbrake though🤣 Bought an interesting car recently,a 1990 Ford Sierra with a 2.0 pinto. Only done 45k well maintained in gleaming black....with a coachbuilt body....yes I bought a recently retired hearse 🤣🤣 I know from previous videos that you used to maintain Sierra taxis,so thought you'd like to know there are still a few old sierras knocking about.
Question is, why was it so loose ? Just lack of maintainance or tampering by someone who doesn't know what they are doing? My son bought a car with spark plugs not tightened down....from a dealer. It runs a lot better now....and oddly enough the handbrake adjustment was all to cock, so we got our Skoda specialist to sort it out properly 👍
Did same thing on my mates corsa he was willing to pay me up to 60 quid to sort it out it was a 20 seconds job got sweet f a but he'd done hundreds In electric work on my shed win win 🏆 👍🏻
Howya i have a 2011 mondeo 2ltr diesil, 6 speed . Some times i have trouble shifting the gears in to first or reverse most of the time the car is fine clutch and flywheel 100 percent no rattles and the clutch peddle is also fine too any ideas what it might be.
I had that too. Changed gearbox oil and greased up the components under the gear lever gaiter and the cable and selector from under the bonnet. Never had that problem ever again.
@@charliecoco2115 just to say that I changed the oil as others said on forums and the only difference it made was a big hole in my wallet!!! That oil isn't cheap...but the first gear shove mainly when cold is still there
@@alan4x I know the feeling - not enough hours in a day. Really good to see any of your vids Alan - but you know what are your priorities, and we must respect your choices. Thanks for what you do. Alan
