Handbuilding III - Kurinuki 

Of all the handbuilding techniques, kurinuki is my favourite. It is slow and meditative but anyone can make a useable pot in a short session and because the Japanese aesthetic for this is for it to be quite rough and ready, they always look good. The term 'kurinuki' means 'hollowed out' and it is a very sculptural approach to functional clay work. For more see my blog at www.juliepeelc....
