My second time singing Messiah, this time with Manchester Bach Choir at Heaton Moor Stockport on 15 April 2023. My first time was five years ago with Marple Choral Society: it was easier then because I was a member of a much larger bass section. This time there were only five of us so any mistakes by me would have been much more obvious so quite a few hours having been spent using your recordings. All went well. Many thanks for all your work. It has been much appreciated by me.
It's been easily 35 years since I did the bass part in the Messiah. Our community chorus of 186 voices has been doing the whole thing for 60 years. This is my first year and you have saved me! Thanks for your hard work!
I am a Baritone (Bass 1) and I find it very easy to sing the exact bass notes to this piece. Thank you so much. I plan on attending a Messiah Sing A Long this December for the very first time myself.
Hello dear......? I already used your videos for the Rquiem of Mozart and I just discovered the list (enormous! All the work you did!) with all the other pièces you did. You are such a tremendous help. Music life wouldn't be the same without you!Thankful greetings;Anneke van Gorkum, dutch feminin bass in a french choir.
Your efforts are just what I have been looking for, enabling me to bridge between singing popular songs and choral pieces. You can convince a lot of people I believe to make the crossing top Choral.
Who's watching in 2022? Our choir will be singing this at a friend's wedding, had to learn the bass alone cause I wasn't present at rehearsals. Much love from Ghana
Thanks for all this. Our sing-along went well last night and a guy behind me said he was following me for help. Couldn't have done it without your videos.
Our choirmaster has reported this useful your work for us bass. Fabulous and we use it, we are just studying the Messiah Thanks for providing so disinterested your knowledge
hey bro, thank you for taking the time to help us all out, learning this material is very challenging to say the least. your video helps out tremendously. God Bless you.
+basshymn I'm doing the Messiah in Tewksbury Abbey in a few weeks ( singing bass ) I find it very useful listening to the one part without everyone else - its so tempting to sing the parts. I'll look at your playlist for the other choruses. Cheers
Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it! Sorry, I don't know of any other resources using an actual voice for Alto parts, just lots of electronic ones.
Having just joined a local choir, as a complete novice, I find your videos just right for singing to, thus practicing the parts for our upcoming Messiah. I would have found it very difficult to keep up with the experienced basses without this excellent resource. Many thanks for the lifesaver. My wife is extremely jealous of this resource, do you know of anybody posting in the same style for Alto ?
3.- "For unto us a child is born" that you already uploaded, and the parts I described at the beggining of this Communications and I need you help me with them. Warm regards from Hermosillo, México Martin B
Thanks so much for posting this...it has been a lifesaver as I'm prepping for a sing-along in LA next week. Any plans to do No.46 "Since by man came death"?
Hey, congratulations buddy !!!, you are doing the right thing with this songs in the BASS string. Please help with others parts of the "Messiah of Haendel" like: 4.- The "hallelujah",5.- "Glory to God", 6.- "Whorthy is the Lamb that was slain" and the "Amen" of this last part. Thanks in advance, and thanks so much for your contribution the Sacred Music. We are gonna sing only 6 parts of Messiah in december 15 2011like following: 1.- "And he Glory of the Lord", 2.- And He shall purify",
Very much appreciate and thank you for this resource - very well done and helpful. If you do not mind my asking, what type of microphone & recording system do you use? Thank you for posting this, and the other Bass audio/video parts. Again, thank you!
+Joe Codeswell good idea! I do get a small amount of money through advertising and donations through my basshymn.blogspot.com page though. I think there are ways of playing the audio from RU-vid videos as mp3s ... Not sure though.
