Handel's original is for harpsichord only, and has nothing to do with the warlike film music. Anything with an orchestra is just arrangements, arrangements. And tastes are different. For us, this interpretation is much nicer. Sensitive music, a sarabande was a slow dance, not war music.

Sorry, I don't appreciate this version because it's too melancholic. After all, sarabande is music to dance, not to moan. And Handel was a Baroque composer with an ability to great dramatic power.

The sarabande was a slow dance in the baroque, and not a fast dance. The Sarabande from the well-known martial film music has nothing to do with the original. Handel's original is only for harpsichord solo, for one instrument.! There is also freedom of interpretation in the music! Your judgment is a matter of subjective taste. The majority thinks our version is spot on and fantastic. I don't think you know much music by Handel. Handel is not often dramatic. What is dramatic in his songs, his water music, his fireworks music.?? His music is mainly festive, solemn, glamorous, golden baroque, and you can even find romantic feelings in his music and much more.

Sorry, a sarabande has always been a slow dance in the baroque era. Please inform yourself better. Forget the Barry Lyndon film arrangement and listen to the original on harpsichord or piano. You are wrong.

@@MusicArtstrings I didn’t say anything about the tempo. I said this version is too melancholic for me - I didn’t say it is too slow - due to the choice of instruments. Anyway, it is fascinating how experts get so exasperated by the comment of a supposedly ignorant person like me. Moreover, the attitude “inform yourself, listen to this, do that, get to know the only truth” is rather arrogant. Thank you for allowing me to express my subjective opinion about my own experience! There is no such thing as a “wrong” impression.
