Retro Revisited It was free so it was not the end of the world mcdonalds had a few game boys on a stick in the kids area that had pirate game boy carts they were there for a long time too they all broke in 2008 and now they got replaced by i pads that are just as bad.

Same. 😂 First came across it on a multicart. 100 games, though in reality there were only 10 on it. The rest were just the same games with different titles. 😂😂😂

I can see your point - I don't like unnecessarily long videos in general, and if I did this again I would have cut this down to about 5-6 minutes or so (at the most). A Top 5 list on the bad games might be something I try in the future though.

In terms of Tower Toppler on the Atari 7800, I understand that - there's something slightly hypnotic about a title which really stretches a system (even if it's not a great game). Like the first person shooters you could get on the GBA for example.

Okay, I'm glad things are on the up for you in any case! As for Smashing Drive I've seen it before actually, I'll have to seek it out I think. Like you I have a soft spot for games squished onto a system that they arguably shouldn't fit onto.

Thanks, man. I was expecting something comparable to Super Mario Bros. that my cousin had for the NES. You know, pleasant graphics, accessible gameplay (not necesarily unchallenging, but accessible), and yes, good music. The only thing that this game has is a pretty impressive 3D-like effect for the GB. Oh, it certainly impressed me, I won't lie on that, but the rest... The only 2 music tracks I ever heard in it (title screen and bonus) were one hideous and the other just barely tolerable. I'm assuming there must be a credits/ending track, but I never heard it, as the farthest I could more or less consistently reach was level 2 on my last life, maybe 2. I think I once reached level 3, which seemed like the achievement of a lifetime just for the ridiculous effort it took. I could rarely complete the stupid bonus levels. I was expecting something to make my sad childhood a bit more tolerable but I got bloody Castelian... You paid 50p for it... I paid my childhood's savings for this hellish abortion of a game. Sorry for all the cursing. PS: I upvoted the video, but I wish there was also a button to downvote the game xD

MismiMan Thanks for commenting - although I genuinely can't stand Castlelian, and I did try to enjoy it! As for Another World, I've played a bit of it - but did struggle. Visually it's great though.

Cliff Reeser I use a different microphone for those parts, that must be why. I might tinker with the settings a little and see if it has any effect (I do have a pretty blocked up nose in general though).

@@RetroRevisited Someone went insane and decided to make a flight sim on the Gameboy where it takes a while just to reach your targets, which in the first mission is an unarmed transport so very boring and no challenge once you catch the thing. Then you have to manually land, and unlike Top Gun on the NES where if you screwed up the landing you lost a life but got to continue in this to have to nail the landing to reach the next mission, It was gaming hell made worse by the fact that for three weeks it was the only Gameboy game I had access to and for a few days the only video game I had access to period. I had bought it to have something new to play when my family was moving until my room was set up. But All the rest of my Gameboy games, several of my SNES games, my mom's Gameboy and all of her games were thrown out by mistake during the move.

segaofmyhouse There is a Wario, Crash Bandicoot (the orange thing), and football team bear (at this time). The Crash Bandicoot is ridiculously big, about hundred times the size of an actual bandicoot.

Yeah, the box of the Japanese version of Castelian has that bird on it: img.gamefaqs.net/box/0/4/6/46046_front.jpg I imagine the game is just as bad though (although I'd prefer to play as that bird character than the pig thing).

Bullshiryo Fair enough - I can stand trial and error in some games but I don't think Castelian offers enough in terms of reward/positive feedback to make the game fun in any shape or form. But I do know of a few fans of this game all the same
