I really love my SteamDeck, especially when it comes to performance vs battery life. However for such a bulky boy it lacks on connectivity. Its absolutely awesome to see so much connectivity and a full sized 2280 on a GPD Win, especially with that processor update.
Yeah, it's surprising that the steam deck only has the one usb-c input. They want you to buy that dock Lol. Definitely a plus to have all the inputs on the gpd stuff.
I have an rtx 3090 desktop already so I really wouldn't need the g1. It's great if you need something small to boost your gpd device. Eta prime did a good video reviewing it if you didn't see. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KuKKc66wrsc.htmlsi=PmByhF5d_1lW84Ep
@@Visionary4787 Since the Oculink port on the 7840U version of the WIN 4 isn't proprietary, you can build an Oculink eGPU enclosure that supports full fat desktop GPUs for it and it would blow the G1 out of the water. That's my suggestion at least.
ROG Ally after Bios 323 update is fantastic. Laying in bed playing this every night is a game changer. AMD is releasing their new graphics drivers for the Z1 Extreme chip any day now. Keeps getting better
@@Level857 probably identical to the Win Max 2 which I find useable. Not as comfortable as the Steam Deck but mainly because of it's weight...the win mini being half the weight of the Win Max 2 should help ergonomically
The GPD win 4 7840U comes out in September and it fixes the d-pad issue the 6800U had so it's more accurate. It also performs better than the ROG ally in many games by a few fps. They also included an Oculink port that gives it the ability to attach an external gpu that runs at 63gbps like the rog ally.
yesm I think the newer GDP is absolute killer of a gaming handheld... but for that price I might as well go with a laptop with much more power. Maybe if they sell it on a black Friday for 35% I will consider it.
I was about to pull the trigger on an Ally, but now I’m intrigued by the LENOVO device that’s coming out in October. It looks to blow away everything out there on the market.
It's worth noting that steamdeck has released more than a year ago, and was very buggy and messy during launch month. Asus Rog Ally and GPD win 4 are both very new, and still improving. Ally's latest BIOS update yesterday improved FPS by 15% and AMD is releasing its graphics drivers update soon.
Yes, all these systems are improving with updates. Steam deck wasn't a perfect launch either as you said. The steam deck community can't be beat at the moment. But like you said, it's got a year head start and has matured. Hopefully the windows app development keeps growing.
For those wanting to know i myself have a rog and never had problems with my sf card reader it is a common problem on the older ones but they parched it up so it shoulden happen anymore but its still possible but for i think older kodels its 6/10 that might fry a reader or a sd card but the newer models are alot less from what ive heard put higher fan curve on the side where the sd card reader is so it wont reach temps over 55celsius i found this video good i am wanting to get a win 4 because of the egpu being cheaper and usable on other devices. And for me only thing my ally lacks is keyboard en track pad so im willing to go to some less power and lesser fps screen. Because most the game si play are 60 fps games with exception of Fortnite, overwatch and warframe those games i can hit 120 fps if i want to not on 1080 but thats not that something i mind its still looks great .
Good choice, beast of a machine! I had no problem with it, just tweak settings. I play at 15w 720p upscale 1080p get around 53~60 temp (even lower, depend on game), 50/60 fps on cyberpunk :) if i go 19/20w i think i can stay on 60fps. And using 6g atm.
Very honest and decent review , gpd win 4 does very loud 😂 and btw I bought exactly the same three devices as yours , and I returned gpd win 4 because the noise, the size , the heat and the dense weight but I do like the keyboard and trackpad.
You said everything I felt about these devices. I owned a 6800u win 4. It was just too bulky, felt worse to hold then my deck. The screen size was too small for modern games. 7" is perfect. My friends have the ally. The joysticks where a deal breaker for me. I still have my deck and still hate the track pads and wish they would have the optical sensor from the gpd. I also have bought the upcoming onexfly. Onexplayer had basically copied the perfect control system of the deck. Easy to change tdp, resolution, fan curve, set fps limits, and auto tdp. It's the prefect size. Only thing I don't like about it is it's missing that little optical sensor from the gpd. Otherwise would have been a perfect device for me. Oh also I don't like the personalized rgb. I wish they would have just made it like the Onexplayer mini. It's a cleaner look.
I was tempted to buy the One player but it was announced after I ordered the ayaneo 2S. I should have impressions on that up soon. I also wanna see what the Lenovo legion go is like. The weight might be the deal breaker there. They announce to many handhelds!!! 😂 - Stikz
@@Level857 the lenovo too me is not a handheld, its way too large and heavy. They built it too gimicky with all these extra features for vr and such. The reality is VR still sucks on a high hend gaming pc. Its not going to work well on the handheld. Plus intro price is 800. Issue is they have declared they are using the Z1 and Z1 extreme. That means for 800 you will only get the normal z1 which will be weaker than the deck. As much as the deck has its faults, the bad screen, the bulkiness, the poor placement of the controls, i think its still the best handheld outside of the aya geek 1s or 2s thats actually available right now. Issue with aya is their really bad qc and customer service. Onex seems to be a bit better in quality control but probably just as bad in customer service. I wish a company like either msi or razer comes in and makes a handheld like the onexfly or the geek 1s. Nice and compact but throw in that optical sensor.
These words you type... They're all true! Lol. For real, I agree with the whole statement. If the legion go is available at best Buy then I'd like to get some hands on with it. Anxiously waiting for impressions about it's weight and controls. - Stikz
After having my hands on alot of handhelds, here is my preference: - Form factor: Rog Ally - Screen: Rog Ally - Buttons and Joy sticks placement: Rog Ally - Joy Sticks: Aya Neo 2 - Trigger: Aya Neo 2 - Buttons: Aya Neo 2 - OS: Steamdeck
If they supplied me a review unit I'd gladly let ya know what I think. These things get expensive quick! I'll keep giving my 2 cents when I can. Even when I have no sense left 😂. The slide is very similar to the gpd win 4 but the hinges are a bit less sturdy. Thanks for watching! - Stikz
I cant decide between the Win4 pro or the Rog Ally... The bigger screen and 120hz really sways me towards the ally but i love everything about the win4, it looks amazing but only 60hz and 6" i really enjoy playing on my switch oled(7") because of the perfect screen size IMO. I need help! 😂😢
The 6 inch screen is really small when running newer PC titles. For emulation and portability is recommend it. If you want to play current titles then I definitely recommend the bigger 7 inch screen. Hope that helps. - Stikz
GPD win 4 all the way man I have gpd win 4 I’ve seen Rog ally it ain’t that good the screen it’s likes the same as Steam deck gpd win 4 has better screen and it’s super sharp and it plays smooth and it run window games I have GPD WIN 4 I love my GPD WIN 4 over my Steam deck Steam deck can’t run window
I think steam deck is still the best since both the system and software constantly gets optimized to run better. Also the price and quality are really good.
These consoles cost a pretty penny. And it's all out of pocket. I'd love to get the systems that came out yesterday lol. The new chipset is about 15% improvement. Not leaps different in performance. I do have an ayaneo 2s on the way though. Look forward to impressions on that. We'll see if that's a keeper or not. Thanks for watching!
I'd love to try it. I'd love for someone to do a d-pad comparison between that and the ayaneo. Cause that's my primary reason for going that route. Ayaneo has been considered the best feeling right now.
I heard after tweaking them they can become way better. I don't play fps games what so ever so they got no use. I hate using mouse and keyboard too lol.
It's not just about specs. It's all good though. Feel free to pick what you like. I just compared them. No need to agree with my logic. Thanks for watching!
I would say that if you dont use an sdcard on Ally it could be great device. Thats where problems starts and ends. You can put about 3 big gameS on 512 SSD and thats not much so you need to buy new SSD. At this point it gets really pricey. I dont think they can solve the sd card issue, becouse an SD card can endure around 85° Celsius and CPU gets up to 95° + heat from the sd card make pretty high temperature already.
That'll be the safest work around if you're worried about sd cards. m2 ssd hard drives have dropped over 50% this month. Worth looking into also. It's an easy swap. - Stikz
ASUS back at it with the design flaws and relying on software to try and amend them! Lets GOOOOOO! :D Bringin the component cooking from desktops to handhelds
Im at 40~60 temp... cooking? Only deckers playing rog at ultra max 30w 95+ temp XD just use you head and Rog is a beast of a machine ;) Do you know what i had to do to swap m.2? Update bio, take off back cover, swap M.2, cover back on, power rog ally and press recovery... all done ;)
I haven't seen a dedicated slide keyboard phone in years. I do remember having the htc g1 & g2. Fun times! If you want a great Android handheld, you should take a look at the Odin 2. Great value and performance! - Stikz
Oh yeah they coming hard think they need to do better more power or strong More Handhelds PC I'm liking it....... I have the Steam Deck I took the ROG Ally back don't tell only one tho. This supposed to be the holy Grail 🤣🤳
There is the one even better Onexplayer 2 pro . Same characteristics, BUT it has 8.4" screen, 17500mah battery, AAND the detachble joysticks like Nintendo!!!
A bit too chunky for my taste and I didn't hear good things about the d-pad. But if I had a chance to try it out myself, I'd give it a shot. But I'll probably never see that though unless someone sent me one. - Stikz
Steam deck 1+year , Rog ally 1+month... stop comparing. Im not going to watch video cause i know already whats going to be said.. and its annoying. Cause rog ally is a beast if you know what you doing.
@@cocobosAsus pretty much fixed most of the issues and are about to release AMD drivers for the Z1 Extreme chip and for more optimization, performance and battery life
