Hi! Omg, how are there no comments?! I have so many questions! How can I rule if it is babe’s 4 month regression or not? Baseline: shy of 4 months we removed him from swaddle as he was showing signs of waking. He went from sleeping with no wakes to only waking once. I’d give him minimal milk to sooth down (2-3oz max of a standard 6oz feed). At 4.5 months he’s now waking a second time overnight and I do t want to feed. I try to leave him to self soothe or even soothe myself without feed (min of 25 mins) and that’s not enough. It end with him drinking and going to bed. Is this a regression or needing more calories? He is technically under weight (not drastically) and eats an adequate amount during the day per pediatrician. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi! Based on what your baby's baseline was and now that there has been a change (and with the age), you're very likely in the four month sleep regression. Breathe! It doesn't last forever. Sometimes instead of feeding, you can try rubbing baby's back, offering a pacifier, talking to your baby or other comfort methods. Usually 5-10 minutes of a "pause" before intervention is okay at this age. If this continues be sure to go visit your baby's pediatrician to rule out any illness that can be causing this as well. I hope this helps!

@@pedsdoctalktv9960 thank you so much for replying! I do wait before intervening with milk and rub and offer pack and we’re still up for about 1hr which leads me with no resort other than a feed. Am I hurting him by doing that?

@@igibars Not hurting! You are trying other things, and it is simply not working. Sometimes you do have to feed, and that is okay.
