As a pediatric nurse i personally witnessed kids who are throwing tantrums. Inaadvisan namin ang mga parent’s na let the child express their feelings and saka mo kakausapin at ipapaliwanag kapag ok na sila and alam na nila sa sarili nila yung reason bakit sila nagwawala. But, napakahirap po sa mga parent’s na gawin yun at lage kami pa mali. This video is very informative when it comes to proper parenting, hindi lang sa kids na my special needs but also dun sa mga normal kids..
I very much agree with you. It is important that we let our kids acknowledge their feelings. Never ever try to suppress them. Let them vent out at the same time help them calm if we can and teach them how to calm themselves. I'm also a nurse and a mom to a 12 year old with autism. Caring for my nephews and niece prior to having my son also helped me alot in taking care of him. It kinda prep me. But I must say having a child with especial needs is very difficult especially when my son was younger.
I really look up to all the mothers in the world. Look how much patience they have for their children. No matter what the situation is they know how to take care of their own child. I salute to all the mother, father, and guardians in the world!

Hayyy nakahilak ko, dili lalim naay anak na Autism with adhd. Pero kaloy-an makontrol nako akoang anak like what mommy candy did gina dedma nako if ever mag tantrums then doolon nako if mahuman na xa ug crying. He is now 7yo and behavior improves a lot since he is attending OT and Speech therapist twice a week. Proud of u mommy candy. Grabe imong patience ❣

Dami kong natutunan dito. I have autistic stepchild. He is ok and very obedient when his dad is here but when he's not, he is medyo pasaway. Overall all,he is lovable and I consider him a blessing to us .

When his Dad had cancer and needed to undergo cell transplantation in a very far city, we were just three in the house, i, him and my biological son. I always gave him a bath everyday, I know he feels awkward because he tells me but I always tell him, he is my second baby boy. He is 13 years old , a canadian and he is big. I love him so much, he is well behaved boy, with manners and very honest and opiniated person. Aside from walking tiptoe, you can never tell that he is autistic.

My first cousin also has the same situation. She's on her 30s already. She's so sweet. Kaya lang lagi pa rin talaga namin sya dapat bantayan kasi nakakatakot sa panahon ngayon lalo at babae sya. May epilepsy pa sya lumabas noong nag teens sya. Ako yung 1st person naka discover katabi ko noong unang atake nya. I hope mas maraming open minded sa mga tulad nila. Pag nasa public sila. Hindi yung pinagtatawanan yung situation nila.
Nothing to worry po kasi everything is under God's plan. Meron pong itinalagang tao si Lord para sa bawat isa. Meron at meron pong magmamahal na tao sa kapamilya nating may Autism. Example po ha, yong ka-church namin, autistic siya pero di po siya down. Matalino siya. Pero may mga attitude po siya na taglay ng isang autistic. Palaging gusto niya mag-isa lang siya hindi nakikihalubilo. Pero ngayon po may asawa na siya... At yong asawang babae, ok lang sa kanya na hindi naaalala ng hubby niya ang mga special days nila like birthdays and anniversaries kasi nga po diba ganyan ang mga autistic. Madalas wala po silang pakiaalam sa nakapaligid sa kanila. Kaya meron at meron pong mga taong inilaan si Lord sa mga special persons. Ako po may pamangkin akong ADHD, ganyan din po ang worries ko pero sabi namin, bahala na si Lord at alam naman naming mawala man kami meron at merong ibi igay si Lord na tao para sa kanya na mag-aalaga, magmamahal at iiintindi sa kanya. Ang ipagpray na lang po natin na sana maunang dumating yong taong inilaan ni Lord sa buhay ng mga kapamilya nating may Autism, bago tayo mawala. Yan na lang po ang ipagpray natin para po panatag tayo na kapag nawala na tayo, merong titingin at magmamahal sa kanila.

I felt sad with the situation Quentin was in, but I admired you most because of the self-control and patience you showed to him. Nasasaktan ka, but yet you still gave him that “tough love.” Talaga palang umiiyak siya dahil may luha siya nung lumapit siya sa videocam. Anyway, I’m happy now that he’s back to his normal ways and felt sorry for what he has done. Thank you that even in his “not-so-good” situation, you still shared this vlog with us. Next Friday again! Wow!nice strategy I'm a Sped teacher and I know the strategy that you've used. In handling child with special needs you need to be firm in order your child knows his limitation or mistakes.. I admired how you deal with Quentin, Ms. Candy and I always watch your video. I also learned from you..Thank You for being a role model on how to deal with a child with special need..

I know what you're going through. Eto rin ang buhay ko everyday with an 9 year old daughter who is non verbal and with Celebral Palsy. Sometimes I felt so exhausted kasi di sya masyadong makalakad so I have to carry her and do everything for her. My husband and I are not getting younger. I just pray that God will give us strength and the patience and wisdom to take care of her. Special children deserve a place in this world. Its not there fault to be born with disabiliy.

Hello po! This is my first time watching to your channel. My kuya is also suffering from semi autism, di siya makasalita, naipit ugat niya sa leeg nung pinapanganak siya, so he should be normal. Pero matalino siya, sobraaaa basta, ang kulit pa HAHAHHAHAHAHHA. Halos ganyan din si kuya sigaw ng sigaw HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA and it is all because of matamis din. Sanay na sanay na kami. It is because of him kaya humahaba pasensya namin, we learned to value and understand life because of him. He is our greatest blessing in our family. Some people might not understand him, and it hurts whenever they call him 'abnormal' or what, even if it is true, but still kuya doesn't deserve that. Ah basta I'll continue watching your videos po! For me po and dahil po yung school po namin ay mayroon din pong ganyan yung 'Children w special needs' na mga students and we don't call them abnormal because they are SPECIAL.

I love watching this video kasi sobrang nakakarelate ako. I'm not a mother pero ang bunso ko pong kapatid ganyan. Sobrang hirap pero totoo tough love talaga. Some people will not understand, and others will judge on how we handle him. Pero yun yung mas need and mas better. Pero all in all sobrang happy ako sa tuwing kasama ko bunso kong kapatid. and super matalino ang tulad nila. Ang dali lang di nila pasayahin, and lalo kapag nasa mood sila very masunurin.. after tantrums, nakakausap sila ng maayos and madali nila marealize once na kalmado na sila.

as SPED teacher of public school in QC...what mommy Candy did was right. Ganito rin po ang laging advice ko sa mga parents ng mga students ko...in public schools, i, personnaly handling 15 to 18 learners with special educational needs particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder cases...hahaha imagine pano kung sabay sabay nagtantrums mga bata? and i am the only teacher in the classroom...so thankful na rin kasi their parents are just outside the room but i didn't allow them to take any necessary action towards their children dahil need ko ipakita sa mga pupils na hawak ko that i am the strongest person in the school and i am the person in authority...hahaha im not thankful sa pandemic pero ng dahil sa work from home napahinga balat ko sa mga kalmot, sugat at pasa at syempre ang hair ni teacher free na sa sabunot. Hahahaha...pero kahit ganun pa man im happy to serve my pupils....kung walang magtyatyaga sa kanila...if i am going to give up or we SPED teachers in public schools will give up...pano na mga bata especially those who cannot bring their child in private schools with Special Education Program. My daughter is under the spectrum also. Learning how to ignore during this tough situation is a super natural power endowed by God to asd/adhd moms 😂😂 Hindi sya madali especially if they act up in public places. One time nagwala yung daughter ko sa National Bookstore and she threw a magazine to the cashier's face. I was so embarrassed. There's nothing I can do at that moment but to walk away hoping she would follow me to the car. Gladly she did, shouting/crying on her way to the parking lot while everyone is staring at us. After a week we came back to the store, and my daughter apologized personally to the cashier.
Oh I thought chloe was a normal child, pero bilib po ako sa kanya tita kase sobrang talino nya and marami syang IQ at ang galing nya magdrawing. Napakaspecial ni Chloe tita

Hi Ms Candy, I'm a behavioral therapist for more than 12 years. I admire the way you firmly handle him whenever he is throwing tantrums. I suggest, for the safety of both of you, if it is possible and appropriate, if you can designate an empty, padded room (or one safe corner), where he can stay and wait until he calms down, para safe for both of you. And establish rules that you will come close and listen to him whenever he is calm, with his hands to himself (no hitting, kicking, etc., to avoid him from hurting you). Both you and Quentin are essential parts of this equation, and I believe Quentin, once taught, would also try his best to take care of you as his mom even during this kind of situation. I am happy to see how far you and Quentin have come in your journey. God bless you both :)
Yes I agree with you. Its very hard when they hit you I was scared for Candy because Quentin was in the kitchen and I was afraid that he might grab some sharp objects to hit others (knife) in Quentin’s mind he’s just mad but doesn’t understand the danger that he might give to others. I know this because I have an autistic kid myself. So a padded room is appropriate when they need to calm down when they are throwing a tantrum
@@candivalicious Ms. Candy, you can use social stories po, discussed with him throughout the day, about keeping calm when frustrated, sitting on the chair with hands calm and gentle, etc. Then it's also good to have visual reminders posted in the room (in the safe, empty/padded room/place) of expected behaviors (taking deep breath, calm voice, gentle/hands or hands on lap, etc) that you can discuss/remind with him from afar, before coming close to him when his tantrum is already about to end (you can make him promise if he is ready to keep his hands calm and gentle so you can come to him). This way, Quentin is also guided to be calm and avoid hurting you, keep distance po as much as possible during tantrums because he also might feel that is an offensive move from you, which could be another possible reason that is why he is hurting you. Sorry for the long comment, just wanna help you and Quentin. You are both a blessing to each other, and we are blessed for your life and your testimony of a mother and son's great love. God bless po!

Even before toni talks nakakapanuod na ako ng videos nila ms. Candy and anak nya, mdlas sa fb. And nun napanuod ko ung tonitalks nya, i really cried, grabe.. ung struggle nya bilang isang single mom at working pa. I super admire her being a tough mom and her unconditional love with quintin.
My youngest sister is autistic and have health problem. What makes it harder is she can't speak a word kaya pag may tantrums sya, most of the time di namin alam anong reason. and we can't just let her walk around like Quentin because she keeps breaking things like big home appliances that will possibly hurt her. I'm so glad that she's getting better and more behave. She's turning 14 years old this MAY and that's a big blessing for a breadwinner like me ❤️ God bless to all of us 💪🏻☺️

I have also a son with (Asd) autism expectrum disorder... I always watch Ms.Candy vlog so i can learn many things about how to handle, my child with this kind of situations.
In my case if my son throw tantrums I ask him to count up to one hundred to divert his emotions...he would count while crying then before he reach 100 he starts to calm down and tells me. "Mama I'm tired counting enough already"... always works for us..
Redirect ang technique na ito......and it works all the time kapag my son throw a tantrums when was young. My son was diagnosed with high functioning Autism at 3 1/2 year old. I can relate what you’re going through mga momshie it’s a lot of hard work faith and patience. As of now my son he’s turning 18 this coming March and he will be graduating on June 2021 we’re so excited.
