Handmade Pen, made with stabilized stone.
I really like how the finish came out on this one. I am so impressed that I will be getting like this for myself soon (this was a gift).
It was hardard to turn than wood but when I had it down to the finish, that part was relatively easy. One thing that was really different from other materials is how the shaving would grind down to powder just by pressing it in my hand.
Also when I was sanding it the residue had a red tent which is a bit odd since the pen is black and white.
I don't know if it had anything to do with the stone part of it but it was harder to turn so I had to sharpen my tools afterword.
If you can imagine this material is both hard and then soft when it gets hot from turning. So you really need to keep your tools sharp and be careful not to cut too much at a time.
