When I grew up every neighborhood in the city had a shoe maker. It was a great experience now that I reflect that people are missing out on today. Shoemaker’s door in my neighborhood was always open by day and it was refuge to chill like a barber shop. The several steps and processes the shoe maker worked the material to form a shoe made me think of the material society uses to make the feet of all things was not soft like leather but hard like steel. The feet of transportation are the wheels of trains, cars, trucks, planes. The foot of a building is its foundation. The pedestal is the foot of a statue. These are things that the human hand must work with machine tools if we are to sleep, roll or fly in comfort. But the material our bodies, hands and feet require are soft materials workable by skill labor and hand tools did not have to disappear. It was by choice that people abandoned skilled labor for machine mass produced products, the sons who did not want to carry on the trade because it lost its reverence by the public, a tragedy of so many families of the working classes individually and socially because when the machines stop working, that entire society built on machinery will disintegrate.
Babb..who is wearing a shoes inside a theatre.. operation room. We ask everyone to keep of their shoes before they step inside the door ....amazing hospital
That was my exact first thought. Great leather craftsmanship and then a cheap, synthetic cemented solevand all man-made insole materials? Total head-scratcher!
Interesting video, but we did'nt see any sewing of the outsole and the upper, so does this pairs is only holds with glue ? It's waybe cheaper to produce, but last way less time. Neverthereless, you can actually see the experience in the movements, that allow them to work fast but with precision.
sorry but this is not a mocassin, for several reasons , mocassin are two parts , the lower and the upper who are united with hand stitching , also this is not 100% handmade since you are cutting the leather with a machine, where are the kichers so that we dan kick off the shoe after using .
@@workmanship I thought most quality mens shoes use glue and stitching vs only gluing? All of my quality shoes have soles that were glued down and then attached via Goodyear welts. The ones that are just glued down aren’t worth anything after a season of wearing.
This gentleman doesn't even know what it means to make a pair of shoes by hand! You have to talk to an Italian to know how shoes are actually made by hand
My dear brother, can you allow me to take your videos so that I can repost them in my channel that I just opened and it is still not activated Please accept me
It’s not hand made. There are still machines involved. Do you wanna see “Hand Made?” Go and see videos of hand made shoes of Pakistan and India. One Hundred Percent Hand Made.
#StopWarInUkraine #stopputin
