When you're so focused and impressed on what this artist is making that you forget that he actually has to make two of those. Like making 1 of em already feels like an achievement
@@qasw287 artist and artisan are connected, basically to be Artisan you are an artist, the difference is in the type of arts, in artisan you make stuff by hand and each piece is can be same but different, it's handmade they can be similar but not exact to the millimeter, a cabinet maker is an artisan, A sculptor or carver is an artisan too, wood crafter artisan, shoe making is artisan, music no, drawing no, as i said the art of making things by hand, well painting you use hand but you paint there's a definition, and the art, it's subjective, one can make a furniture colorful, with drawing or carvings, and one can make same furniture but simple plain with the sole purpose of sit on it, that would be a carpenter but still an artisan, basically art is giving by each subjectivity point of view.
there is something at once satisfying and fascinating about seeing a skilled craftsman completely absorbed in their work. The entire process was as beautiful as the result.
As a leather worker I thought I had some talent since I'm self taught and make some pretty good holsters, wallets, belts etc. Then I watch this guy and like blown away. The way this guy just skives and uses that skiving knife is next level. I mean it was so even and paper thin. Very nice. I hope you throw on a nice price tag. That burnish he got, wow.
not knowing anything about leatherworking or cobbling i spent this whole video trying to figure out when he was skiving with the skiving knife… every new blade he used i was like “that must be the skive knife”
Я сам в шоке,да когда делаеш своими руками и вложил свою любовь то это носит с таким удовольствие.Следиш ,а когда производственные то думаешь ише куплю и не бережош.
I usually like these kind of videos with no music at all but the piano in these videos is always so calm, relaxing and has a very low volume, its a really great touch 🌙
This shows how dedicated and disciplined this shoe artist is, and is keeping the tradition alive for his beautiful culture...And maybe even his children"...I love his attention to detail... Respect earned, Respect given"
@@troll2637 Would you like them to be called a "by-product" after you die ?! animals must not be killed and treated like that, where is respect for other creatures ?!
@Orbán Viktor Mihály sir I mean no disrespect but I believe these shoes in the video are crafted by a Japanese man although I imagine there must be plenty talented craftsmanship in Korea also
When I was a kid, I thought the stacked leather heels were made of wood and wondered why someone would wear something so uncomfortable. It's beautiful workmanship.
It's made of wood, plastic or leather depends situation, and the cost, in ladies shoes or smaller and and higher heel you would use wood or plastic for cheaper and cover it with leather, I'd you want to make it with leather is harder, you will need use really long nails that pierce the sole to the lowest heel you wouldn't want you client to fall and break his face i will say you only would make use leather in platform heel, like riding horse heel, cuban heel, making it leather ladies heel it can be deadly
this really makes me appreciate the effort people had to go to throughout history to make things. the artistry is incredible. it's a real labor of love all the way through. I imagine this is the kind of thing one has to take a lot of pride in and care very deeply about to be able to do it every day. just so impressive.
I would love to see a date/time stamp. I’d like to see how long certain processes take. For example, the rubber strap wrap, couple hours or days? But, man, this is beyond masterful.
For me, I am from the third generation of my grandfather who was a shoemaker, it is a pride to see this young master craftsman with passion and his elegant way of making beautiful moccasins, thank you very much for sharing greetings from Costa Rica 💯 🇨🇷
I will never look at another pair of shoes the same way ever again. And when I see the price tag for custom made shoes, I will not laugh or make jokes. Absolutely a work of art. Wow!
I've watched a lot of making shoes video's but this one is the best by far, so much passion and precesion and attention to details, just absolutely a masterpiece . Japanese craftsman are the best period.
I used to work for a custom boot maker here in north central Texas by the name of Eddie Kimmel. We made boots for a lot of country and western singers. The young man making those shoes is extremely talented. It is a pleasure to watch
I only know that I can't hope to afford shoes made to this standard. Most shoes, even handmade shoes, aren't made with this level of attention to detail and overwhelming craftsmanship.
For some reason, knowing this video has 2.4 million views in one month gives me hope for our world. Knowing that many people are curious and appreciate beauty and craftsmanship is comforting.
Thank you for sharing this. I was enthralled by the detailed steps ... and then realized the hand strength required to control the tools and apply consistent pressure. 😯 Wonderful video... thank you. 🕊✌🦋
Watching this feels like I'm watching a painter working on a master piece, it's so enjoyable to see such level of attention-to-detail. Bravo, beautiful work. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Mechanical work, any mechanical work is my passion but to watch people work with leather is always so relaxing. For so young and yet he has all that detail. Love it.
Если бы он был хирургом то его поцыентам повезлобы как он решит и шёт . Думаю те кому он шёт обувь тоже очень довольны!!! Живу далеко атак заказалбы пару пар с удовольствием! Привет с Абхазии смотрю с удовольствием
Who ever gets a pair of shoes from this craftsman they are very lucky. The skill and time are amazing. Ive watched a few of these when I need to relax and this man is hands down the best on youtube at making shoes.
What care and pride! This was oddly satisfying to watch. Beautiful loafers. I had a pair of Penny Loafers when I was in high school. I wore them with everything, they were so comfortable.
Absolutely magnificent. It's like watching Rembrandt paint a masterpiece. I could have watched this for another hour. I would suggest making your videos not less than an hour. I bet I'm not the only one who thinks this. Beautiful video and music is perfect. Thank you.
This is the now my favorite video I have ever seen on RU-vid. Those loafers look unbelievable, and the video from start to finish was incredible. 10/10
I wonder how many years of apprenticeship is required to acquire such excellent artistic skills. Granted that real artists are born and not made. Such wonderful craftmanship, thank you for sharing your skills with us!
I was so sad knowing how few videos you have published so far and the next day: this. Thank you for sharing that beautiful process of creating a masterpiece.
My hat is off to those who are professional leather tanners. Their job is such a difficult, messy and smelly job yet no craftsman would have great leather products to work with if there were no professional tanners.
These craftsmen show us what it means to be diligent with your work. This is just stunning and show a lot of appreciation and admiration for craftsmen, artisans, creators and makers of the world. My father was a shoemaker.
I am very glad to have come across to your video! These You Tube cookies sometimes are useful! Maybe my favorite shoe color! I try to observe shoe maker's techniques. You have one interesting signature if I can say. What a craftsmanship, indeed. Despite of not being through all this making process. What you offered us is more than enough. Indeed you made me want to wear one of your works. Health and prosperity!
Effing beautiful!!! I have been doing handstitched leatherwork for about 50 years and I can really appreciate his dedication and work. Not too many people doing work like this! Maine is the place for this kind of hand work still .Any body interested should take a look at John Lobb bespoke shoes
I am guessing it is more common in parts of Eurasia than in NA because in a lot of those areas they have very deep rooted communities going back centuries
9:49 The only time the background music stops when he focuses on splitting it with precision... You cant help but feel a bit of what he must've felt at that moment. 😲
You make them in some many similar ways to what my Uncle told me about my Grandfather's Techniques in Cyprus. He did his trade in the Greek section of Cairo. They sewed soles to the welts by hand the same cross stitch technique you use exactly, and used a shaped hand stone to trim and smooth the cut soles on the welts before the finishing...by hand all the modern sanding. It's amazing to see you work.
It is so touching and beautiful. Shows not only the love and dedication to the craft but also a real respect and gratefulness to the animal whose life was taken to make people's life comfortable.
So it’s only appropriate they die for the rich? Bc 99% of people can’t afford this what about those that just become a pair of timberlands?!? Is that disrespectful and ungrateful… not too mention you have no clue how this animal lived or died Go hug a tree and kiss a frog. Makes more sense than the nonsense you just spewed forth
@@drshin9893 Thank you for your precious piece of advice. So good that you are on this planet as now I know what to do with my life. Before your comment I was lost.
I'm in awe of the craftsmanship and the shoe design is absolutely beautiful. It makes me want to drop everything and go to Japan to apprentice with you.
I watched this whole video in suspense of how the wood center piece was going to be removed after creating the shoe. I did not know all of this went into this. Great job at carrying the craft this far!!
