Dear David. What a fantastic idea than teaching/showing us how to compose a complete song from one of the great "patterns" we learnt from you! I vote for Basslap (and Khaligi second). Also, congratulations on Season1 of these mini series: the quality of these mini tutorials is truly outstanding. It makes perfect sense to take a break from this time-consuming project: this being said, I look forward to season 2. :) Thank you sensei for transmitting your passion, and for your great work in the community. Best of luck in your new projects.

Great idea to make this seasonal. All eleven are great! My favourites whould be: Arpeggios for 2 for it's beautiful melody and arrangement (make a great TV series theme? 👌). #2 and certainly #10 for it's Easternized rhythm for an album track for sure. I vote for Basslap or Khaligi 2 Actually honestly If I can learn all of them as a complete piece it would be wonderful. Plus if you want to offer up each song that we can purchase as individual lessons, For example we could pay $50 or $99 to learn as many complete songs as you put out! They are so wonderful and impossible to choose just one! Thank you for your Awesomeness and for all your hard work for the Friday sessions!

It's an awesome idea. I would personally like to learn how to incorporate melodic and percussive sentences (if that makes any sense) so that the melody does not sound too busy. Furthermore, what are the main consideration when composing. Thanks so much for sharing this Friday videos are great :)

First of all David, thank you so much for these weekly pieces, it was so very nice. I like this overview with you playing the pieces without the rest of the lesson, as it gives me a better flavor for what the end product will sound like, then I can go back and play with the lesson. It will be nice to have a little break, so it will allow me some additional time to practice more with the great compositions you have offered us. After listening to the 11 that you have here a number of times, there were five that stood out for me for various reasons. Half-Time Khaligi is nice in that it is a slower tempo and has an airy and almost more mysterious feel to it. Basslap is a very nice upbeat piece, sort of one you could dance to. It feels like 2-step and Khaligi 1 have a very similar beat or tempo, as though they could be different parts of the same piece. I may even try that-with a little more practice that is. I also like the Many shapes of one piece. Of these I think for me, it is Basslap, with Half-time Khaligi and Khaligi 1 tied for second and for different reasons. Thank's for the video and the inspiration to play with these some more. I'm looking very forward to next season and whatever else you do. Hope you have a great summer.
@DavidKuckhermann
@DavidKuckhermann 4 года назад
Awesome, thanks for the detailed list. I also think that some of these might work well when combined as different parts of one piece. I'll try that and see where it ends up ;)

Dear David, thank you so much for your lessons - they are so helpful! My favorite is "Many shapes of one phrase", because I made already a composition from this former lesson, but it feels like there is still something missing. The second one is SAMAI, because my son has a handpan with a Hijaz scale, and I would like to compose something with him together, and the third one is the half time Khaligi, because I´m very fond of slow rhythms.
