▶Top 5 Handpan Grooves: One of my favourite handpan features is that you can transfer grooves and ideas from many other instruments. From the vast treasure of rhythms and grooves from around the world, some work better than others. Today I wanna show you 5 of my favourites. For each of them, I demonstrate first how it sounds on percussion and then how you can use it on the handpan with a mini composition.
Remember that you can always use the speed function of the video player to check things out in slow motion.
Level: all levels
#handpan #handpanlessons #handpangrooves
The handpan I play in the video is made by Victor Levinson.
Scale: D - A Bb C D E F G A C

I so badly want a handpan... The PERFECT percussion instrument IMHO just highly doubt I'll be playing one this side of Heaven... I literally do these technique, and have since I was a kid in the 70's, on anything my fingers can find... Never heard of handpan til a couple years ago and it just literally FLOODS my soul. No other instrument moves me like this and I've been making music my entire life in one form or another.
@DavidKuckhermann
@DavidKuckhermann 4 года назад
It's interesting how the sound of the instrument just touches/attracts some of us so much (me included). Why do you think you'll never have one, they are becoming more and more affordable.

I really liked the halftime khaligi composition, it has a lovely contrast in it :-) do you plan on making tutorials about longer pieces? I always find myself doing the same patterns in a loop and I'd love to be able to play longer pieces. One of my target is to do some kind of game of thrones theme song. There are some really good covers on youtube, but it's really hard to replicate.

Hi Corwyn, I love that one too, probably my favourite of the mini compositions. Yes, I do plan tutorials on longer pieces. Before that, the video in 2 weeks will most likely be about creating variety and developing a short pattern into a little music piece. Once I have a few more of these videos out, I'll probably make a poll with you guys between all the mini compositions from the different videos. The winner will be made into a fully fleshed-out piece.
