1:23 I know it's brutally offtopic Stephen, but I just released a video I've been working on for years about snakes, please watch it if you can! about your review - amazing as always! I prefer 16:10 external monitors monitors though and dream that one day I can have a gaming laptop with a display like the one present on LG Gram 17. And, it's also frustrating to me when ports are berried that deep. For example a headphone jack in my external monitor... ugghh I have to lift the monitor up, look behind it and look for that jack every time because it's placed in the worst spot ever. It would be worse only if it was inside or something lol

First off, great video mate. I pinned your comment so hopefully more people will share your love of snakes. As for the ports I think it's crazy. I have to lift the whole monitor up to see the ports. Drives me nuts as I'm always switching things around .

Hello Steve, fantastic review as always! I just got this monitor a few weeks ago and loving it so far, although still tinkering with the settings trying to find the best image quality. Can you share your preferred color settings for gaming please? Are you using the black equalizer setting by chance?

OWNorDisown I just ordered my brand new Omen 15t laptop and was seriously tempted to get this monitor as well...I waited too long, prices in my country went up 100 US$ overnight. I wonder how much is the corona virus responsible for this. This monitor does a lot of things right but it wasn’t that cheap to begin with. Gonna wait for some offer later on anyway my laptop comes with 144 Hz display so I’m not going to miss it that much.

@@andresvaldevit3692 yes, I think prices are going up everywhere. Hopefully when things settle down prices will drop. I'll ask them if they have any discount codes.. what spec Omen 15t did you get? I use mine all the time. The only thing I wish was its battery would last longer, other than that it runs great. Let me know what you think of it when it arrives 😀

@@OWNORDISOWN I was set to get the 1660ti model because I don't find a use of RTX graphics. It sounds really weird to get RTX to play with it turned off + I should get a longer battery life since this model doesn't have Optimus too. I couldn't find a single model on Amazon speced like I wanted, this gave me the advantage to build mine from HP making sure the keyboard is white and I could upgrade the SSD from normal nvme to Optane for free.

Much better. The best 1080p 144 hz monitor was probably the Y740 with the 500nit (I measured 409 nits) with 74% AdobeRGB , here we got about 87%. It definitely made my TN Dell monitor look rather poor. Great speakers and remote control are a nice bonus to have.

Nice review but you should switch your ceiling light off - it makes top of screen reflect that light bulb and looks like colors on screen are not consistent

*Super Monitor = Super Price* It's really nice, a dream of a gamer! Stylish, 144hz, IPS, 27 inch, good speakers. I bought the Helios some time ago and it worked me great and gets more than 200fps in CS:GO and 100+ fps in Fortnite and other FPS games but 15 inch that I thought would be enough results not to be enough at all. My external monitor is only 75hz, such a waste of a framerate. 😭

Yeah, thing is it wasn't all that long ago that 75 hz was great and 144 hz was the thing of dreams. At CES they had monitors over 300 Hz, lol. I bet in a years time when everyone has rtx 3080's they will be saying that 144 hz is too slow 😥

Sensor should work in different way. In dark room should make screen less bright and on bright day put brightness more or max if is very suny day.

I have this monitor and struggling a lot to get decent quality video on modern warfare. So, Ryzen 9 3900x, this monitor, RTX 2070 super and still not getting quality picture as claimed in many videos. I am viewing all videos related to this monitor and nowhere I see people talking on setting this monitor for game play. I don't know if I'm missing on something to get that 1440p quality in game with at least 75FPS.

Do you have HDR selected in windows? Does COD have HDR in game? If it does try turning that off and use Game HDRi see if that helps

Hey i am dying between this monitor and acer xb271hu the only difference i found was that this monitor has aas panel where acer has ahva panel which one do you think is better the acer is just 70$ more but 4+ years old I'm really confused which one to choose

I like that the Acer has vertical adjustment, but I think its Gsync only, so not sure if you switch to an AMD card that you will be able to do Freesync. Reviews look a bit poor on Aamazon though, buggy firmware seems to be an issue: www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-bmiprz-2560x1440/dp/B06ZXZ3QBD#customerReviews I still have the BenQ and use it every day. No problems to date.

I think HDR in BF V screws things up. I turn HDR off in and play in DX11, display HDRi looks great and I get a good FPS

but to be real, i saw this HDR faking of FRC on a Q60 and a RU8009, i never saw any improvement. As i use now a 10 Bit OLED panel, damn, this is nice HDR with dolby vision

With Samsung RU8009 freesync only (LCD LED) and with LG OLED TVs Gsync only The 48" CX sounds very interesting as PC monitor, im using my 55" like 40% PC/Gaming with RTX notebook and 60% Movies over netflix or bluray player, no 4K bluray player yet and i dont think i really need 4K at all.

@@fogreyiz the Aorus one looks like a great gaming monitor . I tested out its ANC feature at CES 2018 and it was great. I also liked how you can have the PC thermals and clocks shown plus the PIP mode looks good. If you dont mind the RGB bling that looks pretty good. The LG looks more standard fare, I'm sure its good though. But I do fancy trying the Aorus one.

@@OWNORDISOWN I have a nice LG 34" 3440x1440 75hz 10-bit freesync IPS panel I got back in 2015, before ultrawides were cool. Picked it up as an "open box" gamble on NewEgg for just shy of $500. I have my eye to upgrade, but I want the exact panel I have, but maybe 120-144hz instead. But I've found that they usually lose the 10-bit color depth, or knock down to 2560x1080, which at 34", would look horrible. So I'm still using it with no complaints. 75hz works fine with my Vega 56 in most cases since I play games for eye candy more than competitiveness.

hi @OWNorDisown ......here the things.......i have an asus rog zenith extreme x399 motherboard with an 1900x Threadripper, my video card is an Asus Rog Strix OC8 RX5700XT, this one have a Displayport 1.4 and HDMI 2.0, so my monitor is so old an AOC E2250SWDN, and i want to upgrade my monitor, i was looking but almost all the youtubers dont make a job like you do, i have to congratulate you beause of that....you are making a very good work.....so i was looking a Monitors from $ 550 down, and i hoppe you can helpme.......i want this monitor for all purpose.....gaming, edition, i I like the idea that my pc is all-terrain

Thanks, appreciate the kind words ! I use this monitor every day as I test my laptops, I've never had an issue with it. It replaced a new Dell 27" 1080p 144 hz and its colours are so much better. The speakers are great too. I dont test many monitors because they dont get me any views . The other monitor i use is a 38" UW from Acer but that was quite expensive. Aorus make some good gaming monitors with inbuilt nice cancellation. I tested one at CES and it was good.
