HANDS ON Review of Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of The Moon Apollo 8 

I have the old version and checked the new one today in an Omega Boutique. On the wrist is hard to see the difference, so I'm glad with mine. For the price difference you can get a nice Seamaster.

Thanks for the great review! It is indeed an Era watch. I love it more than the MK1. Things that made me love it on the previous version are the following: - They removed the bezel lume . - The Dial detail now is more sharp and realistic to moon surface. - The movement. cheers

Stunning movement with the "dark side of the moon" vibe. Unfortunately I am not blessed with such wrists.

I thought the same at first because I was the owner of the Mark 1 Apollo 8. But I decides to switch and couldn't be any happier. I cannot stress enough how beautiful the dial is. The rocket out of this world. The bracelet is in rubber with folding clasp made out of titanium and ceramic. The reason why they removed the lume on the bezel is because superluminova is not that durable. They decided to do the tachymeter in enamel white because it is classy and can last forever on the tachymeter. The reason why the word tachymeter is no longer in yellow is because the yellow in enamel would look dull. The omega and speedmaster words are painted by hand. The quality and the details in this watch are amazing. Not to forget the metas certified movement with hacking seconds. As a Snoopy owner, I can safely say this is the most attractive watch l've ever worn or seen.

Hi. Sorry this nay sound like a silly comment, but the older movements; is it worth buying the older watch or is the movement harder to service than the newer movement? Dont want to buy an older watch if manufacturers are phasing out certain movements etc.

Great review! My wish is Omega would😊 down size their whole line. Aquaterra would be great at 38mm The speedy at 39mm with a wingspan of around 47mm 😊 I’m ok with their thickness ❤

IMO, the old version is nicer. Omega putting rocket at 9oclock on new version, cheapens the watch. But, hey, to each his own.

Love those micro details it's a type of piece that has a real story behind the design. If you know, you know type of piece. I will wait until I can get this with a discount and tax-free. Price wise, it's on the higher side. I don't understand 5K above the previous version retail price.

New one is just as ugly as the old one in my opinion. Not my cup o tea.
