In my mind I thought of this as the "NASA." I looked at it and immediately thought "Moonwatch + White, Black and Red = Space Shuttle." Therefore "NASA." It was only later that I fount out it was inspired by astronaut spacesuits. Close enough!
New to the channel and just subscribed. Saw this in the Omega boutique and it was truly beautiful. Around 6 month wait list if you put a deposit or about a year if just placed on the waitlist. I put in a deposit with my AD 😅 Will be my first Omega when it comes. Nice review!
The most elusive speedy with white/panda dial. Limited edition Mitsukoshi, and the Snoopy "what could you do in 14 seconds".... both went for beaucoup premium.
I was at the mall yesterday, yes the mall, and the Omega store said if I ordered then i would have it in about 2-3 weeks. So not sure about this wait list you speak of. He did say each store got about 10 and all of those were already sold. Strangely, the display model they had was hidden away and they only pulled it out when I asked about it. Considering they just launched it I was surprised they would hide it away. Can anyone explain why they would do that? Watch was really nice looking btw. Have never been a huge speedy fan but this one in white looks really good.
I think it varies from country to country and boutique to boutique. I think they hid the display model to only allow VIPs to view it first. It is a nice watch isnt it? Will you be getting it?
Nice to hear from you again. I think you just have to be a Spreedmaster fan. Or you become a fan. I wanted to ask you which watch you like better, the Moonwatch or the Super Racing. But the Super Racing is out of your choice because of its size. I really like the new Apollo 8, which was briefly shown here in the video. Unfortunately it's not exactly cheap, and maybe also a bit too big. I was invited to the Bulgari Octo Octo Finissimo at the Wempe event on Thursday, and I was also able to see the Apollo 8 there, which doesn't seem that big.
Hi George, nice to see you again! As a fan of watches, I think it is hard not to like the Speedmaster. The Super racing is a tad too big unfortunately. I forgot to ask for the new Apollo 8 but I feel like it will wear big as well with it'a 44.25mm(I think) size,
Hello my friend, Wempe is also represented in Singapore, right? I even think twice. Try getting the Apollo 8 on your arm, it just looks very interesting. @@georgeii2629 I don't think Wempe is represented here. I've read mixed reviews of the new Apollo 8. Some like it and some prefer the older version. It doesn't help that it comes in a standard box too the new one. If you have Instagram you can always send me a message there.
Isn’t there a new ‘on the fly’ micro adjustment on the bracelet? That’s the only thing missing on my 3861 Speedy. I think this is a great addition to the Speedmaster line up. I think I prefer my original black dial speedy. I’m not sure if a less matted black dial would look good. It might affect the readability/legibility.
As my first real watch, I wanted to treat myself to the white SEAMASTER. However, now that I have managed to put enough money aside to treat myself to it, I wonder if it would be better to wait to put some more money aside to treat myself next September , the SPEEDMASTER. White or black? I do not know. I'm thinking of moving more towards authenticity by treating myself to the SPEEDMASTER black dial which is legendary. I certainly wouldn't be a collector. So, I aspire to put the package into a single watch. I think I can wait a little longer to treat myself to the SPEEDMASTER. But my choice will undoubtedly depend on the participation bonus that I will receive in August. lol
It all depends on how and where you will wear the watch for. You can never go wrong with the Professional Speedmaster. If you only plan to get one watch for awhile, I'd advice with the Speedy. You should also take your time to wear the watches in the stores and think about it. Don't rush as it is not a cheap purchase. Enjoy the process and hope you get your first luxury watch!
It would be better without the red. But I guess that would be too close to the gold version. I like the panda version for Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but with the current bracelet.
You know that thougjt crossed my mind too. It reminds me abit too much of the Seamaster Diver white dial. Perhaps they could apply the pop of red elsewhere.
Standard black speedmaster looks much nicer. Omega is trying to play the Rolex waitlist game now, but it isn’t going to work. This thing will be 30% off on Jomashop by this time next year.
I think they have to play the game whether we like it or not. Whatever that helps create excitement and drive the supposed "value" of their watches no matter how fleeting it might be.
@@WatchYourFront_ for $100 at this price point, it's a 1.25% increase. I would pay that just for the white lacquer dial, and am happy with the applied indices too. Some brands gouge for a color they know is going to be popular --- all things considered, I feel ok with this.
Pass for me. It doesn’t look special anymore. I like my speedy grainy and sandy. This should have been a more charcoal sandy white. Not this gloss look . Leave that to the Seamaster line up.

@@WatchYourFront_ You know what I nearly bought a black dial sapphire sandwich a couple of years back, I do like the look of the white speedy though, I was also lucky enough to buy a batman(that i still own and am keeping)way back in 2014 before prices went nuts, but now prices are a bit more sensible I'm edging towards a stainless steel white dial stainless bezel daytona, beautiful watch that I like and would enjoy wearing but really though its alot more outlay a better investment as well so a win win

only 6 months to a year "waiting list"? it needs to be a longer wait to create more hype. They need to do what Rolex does and let the AD decide who gets the magical phone call to say they were selected to purchase a watch......more hype is needed.
I think if it was a limited edition or limited production, it requires more difference to the classic Speedy. If it's just a diff colour to me it is not enough.
@@sstanforddpt try it in person if you havent. In videos, especially with the odd Omega lighting, it's hard to capture the best amd accurate colours. Would you only consider the watch if you yet to own a Speedy?
When you say 'wait list' do you mean they will actually take an order and really deliver or is this the old 'Rolex' wait list where you ask politely and nothing ever happens? I am in France and have this morning enquired with my Paris Omega boutique, though I have no purchase history with them. I wonder what they will say.

@@CoreyCore614 50m of water resistance is not a lot. That's enough for washing the dishes. Widely accepted 50m wr isn't even good for shallow snorkeling.
Oh please. It's a speedy. People are just hyping this one up that basically feeds this company to be greedy. Give it a yr or two market will plow like a speedy rocket then these watches will be on the window.
