I've had a heck of a time getting straight grooves and dados when using just a router and the stock rail guide, which is why I was excited to try out the ‪@BoraTool‬ Router Dado Jig along with the NGX Clamp Edge. How did it go? Check out the review and see the tool in action!

So, you did mention that one must hold the router down ("gravity"). But when you first start the cut coming from the edge of the board, this plastic plate is very wobbly with a heavy router perched on it. The first time I tried it, the router bucked sideways, and there went $45 in orange chips. The hole wouldn't fit the guide anymore. After sleeping on this problem and mumbling bad words about Bora, I came up with a solution that does work. I traced out a 3/8 piece of plywood, attached it to the base with Super 77 spray glue, and bored a new 1" hole in that "sandwich." Then I found a spot on my router where I could bring a 1/4 bolt up through the base and used a wing nut to affix the router to the whole thing. The "new" base doesn't interfere with the thickness adjustment of the Bora jig. So, if you want to secure your router to this base, you might try this work-around.

It works pretty good but I don't have a router table or dado stack to compare it with and because of the additional collar and the orange base I have had to choke up on the router bit in the router unit to give it enough length to do > 1/4". Thanks for the review!

When in doubt, I prefer a dado stack for sure, but especially for stop dados, it's a good fit.

I noticed you had a Milwaukee router but you chose the Makita. Does the Bora work with it the Milwaukee?

This guys shop looks like the Home Depot tool wall. I would say Lowes but they don't carry TriTech or Makita.

Hello sir thanks for the video i had a question, what kind of router i use it for that is it palm or plunge router?
@LazyGuyDIY

You can use either type honestly, it all depends on what type of routing you're doing. If you're cutting dados or running a channel, you can use a standard router. But either will work.

Sir i will complete my question what kind of router bit i use if ill make a groove an t-slot track saw table chut.. sorry because im a beginner sir

No problem! If you're cutting the channel for the metal t-track a lot of times that's a 3/4" wide piece of metal tubing, so I'd use a double flute straight cut bit that's 3/4" wide: amzn.to/3uy0EKq. It might require two passes though at a shorter depth depending on the power of your router and how sharp your bit is. Don't try to cut it all at once!

Does this work with the m18 router as well?

You’d need to get the aftermarket bushing to attach it to the base, but yes it will. I have the same Milwaukee router.

@@LazyGuyDIY Where do I find the aftermarket bushing attachment? I am having a hard time finding it

@@yc6683 I've found ebay to be the best bet especially with Makita or Milwaukee compact routers.
