Sony handycam pro. Problem with a stuck tape tension lever that also prevented proper eject of the tape. A lot of leaky SMD capacitors which will eat away the copper traces on the printed circuit boards. For this reason not very many camcorders of this age will work today.

Gaaf!! En al helemaal gaaf om te zien dat ie t ook doet!👍 Zou je het aandurfen om de condensatoren van mijn Sony CCD-FX700E (HI8 model) te vervangen?? (Tegen betaling event. hoor haha).. Heb zelf al heel wat apparaten gesloopt, maar deze wil ik echt ontzettend graag heel houden haha.. (En misschien een idee voor een nieuw filmpje voor je kanaal 🤔) Hoor graag van je! (Kom zelf uit NL lol)

Hi, so I have this camera but whenever it’s plugged into a power source the counter on the screen comes on for a second and then it turns lifeless

Hi i have this same model sat in drawer for 15 years worked great , but now cant get tape out to convert, it powers on the motor runs to eject tape but it wont move can u help please

hard work, well done, the rest of the capacitors you did not change still work even after 34 years?

Yes, I'd better replaced all capacitors. But everything is small and delicate. Easy to damage some solder pads or traces. Not so easy to find very small electrolytic capacitors of high quality. And I found the SMD capacitors are way worse than the trough hole ones. At least those are all replaced.

@@japcast usually smd capacitors are the worst you are right, the camcorder is working properly now?

@@salvatorev_ Yes, the camcorder is working about right. A small tracking error with old tapes, but I guess it's a tape path alignment error.
