Shingeki no Kyojin newest episode english subtitle Levi say Shinzou Sasageyo to Hange and say goodbye. Hanji Zoe death scene, Hange sacrificed herself to protect his friends. #attackontitan #erenyeager #leviackerman
The fact that since Hange became commander, she lost her joy and passion, the same joy we liked her for during the previous seasons, it’s like a flower that lost its colors. But before she dies, we saw her inner joy come out when she felt excited about the titans again. Legendary moment for a legendary character. RIP Commander Hange Zoe.
I feel like that's not the case , I feel like she was shaking with fear , she was telling Levi to tell her not to go , but Levi told her to give her heart
She really did go out in the coolest way possible. I'm so glad all of her fallen comrades got to watch her play her final role in saving the world right before joining them at last. Rest in peace, Hange
We really lost all the goat OGs except levi😢 and what i feel often gets overlooked is armin's reaction. He cries so hard and it's emphasized cuz he knows what it feels like to be burned like that
I love the fact that they didn't forget the detail about the colossals being extremely hot. I think it was fitting the she ended up dying by catching fire from their body heat.
3:32 this shot of Armin man !! He’s literally the only one in there BALLING .. the feels bro.. perfect shot !! Made me start balling along with him !😰😥😰😭
She was a funny and brave character, not many ppl can facing die hard situations can still stay claim and perform that precisely flying attack. Her death can saving the world and in her own style. 10000 respect ! Great and fit music , just break ur heart when the song start. The song is feel like telling u it will be the sad ending for her... Give ur heart,.protect human, save the word....who can able to do that in our world now??! Thank you AOT, although too much dead.....but remain us when facing (Titan) need to have a faith and a strong heart. Thx... Hange.
Hange approached by her compatriot and received a hand from Mobilt is the best thing. She finally reached her comrades fulfilled her goal. But Levi saying "so long, Hange" really hurt me.
She had an awesome send off, emotional felt it, the last arc had soo much weight to the story and character development, everyone died/sacrificed meant everything for this specific future
I think It was enough the sad face that Levi showed. Cause… You can see it through his eyes, he was crying from inside, one simple expression tell us that it was painful for him… More that the wounds that he currently have.
levi doesn't cry, some people just don't. even when his entire team was killed by Annie he didn't cry and when Zeke screamed and transformed his comrades in S4. But you can see on his face how upset he is.
The only time levi cried was when his childhood friends died. I think this is the writer's way of showing how close they had to be to levi to get him that upset. And it could also be that their deaths broke him so much that he decided to adopt erwin's cold hearted attitude and his nihilistic philosophy of not regretting a thing and keep going forward.
Commander Hange Zoe - The character that disrupted all the stereotypes that are usually implied on women . Strong, witty , beautiful soul inside out , never got weak even after loosing an eye , the sheer curiosity for learning and the depth in her thoughts that ran in her mind every second she was alive and the glorious death she had to go through by putting herself before all her comrades !
“yeah, you’ve had it tough, you can tell us all about it” whenever or not the Paths were erased from existence along with the power of the titans, the Survey Corps would’ve always been able to see eachover in the end. Erwin’s self proclaimed “meaningless speeches” turned out to be entirely meaningful the entire time
Imo if you really think about it it’s not that impressive as they aren’t even colossal titans. They’re wall titans. Wall titans literally don’t have a consicousness so they can’t even attack people. The steam is their only weapon. So if you really think about it hange took out like 16 wall titans that are basically colossal titan but can’t attack you imo.
@@Zaphrael090tf u mean it’s not impressive. Even if they are wall titans they’re all still colossal titans standing at 60M tall. Considering the fact that 80% of the world got stepped on by the rumbling, the fact that Hange was able to fight them is insane
@Zaphrael090 I mean just because they don't really attack doesn't mean they aren't that much of a threat, it's like a giant ass elephant as big as a wall titan walking, alot of people are still going to die whether or not it attacks.
I love how Erwin only mentioned she had her hands full. Just goes to show that in the living world as in the afterlife, everyone can can come together in agreement that Eren's an idiot. Heartwarming.
Dude, even Eren admit he's an idiot at the end 😇 It's also saddening to know that Eren is never able to join that group afterlife. It's just not his vibe at all lol
hard coping here, it was the only way, eldia sooner or later would fall due enemies attack, he sacrificed himself for his people but at cost of wiping 80% of humanity. I mean, the whole point is everyone has a different point of view based on his own realities and their sides of the history, imagine you having knowledge of past and future and try to avoid the worst at all cost but then realize there's no easy way and no fairytales, humans always choose war, like marley with other nations for example, at the end eren tried his best to save his friends and his land, but at a high cost, his life and the rest of humanity, of course normal ppl without his powers and sight of different periods would think he's wrong and all stuff, they are not in his situation, don't experienced what he's been through.
Levi's reaction hits hardest for me. Everyone else is crying, they've lost a good friend but Levi is a guy who has pretty much lost everything - and now the last person who started out with him. But he's a soldier and he's got no tears left, yet you can see his heart is crushed.
I definitely wouldn’t say they didn’t die in vain. More like spit on. But she died for a cause and I wanted to do her best for that. So it’s very iffy.
I think it ruined the scene tbh. It's really out of place and makes no sense. It also lessens the impact of litterally every death in the whole series.
@3:14 when the audio goes silent it really builds the suspense because you dont yet know if all her hard work paid off but then the music suddenly comes roaring back to show that YES the plane successfully takes off. PERFECT synergy of audio and visual magic!
This shit is even harder when you remember that Hange is basically their mom. All of them but Jean have lost their families, and Hange was the closest thing to family they had left. Their big sister, their goofy aunt, and their caring mother who died to protect them.
Yeah, and Levi was the strict Older Brother, Uncle that kept them disciplined and in line while also keeping them from having to take command because he knew that none of them were ready for such responsibility yet. Hange and Levi were basically the parents of the new generation of the Survey Scouts after the passing of Erwin. I also felt really sad for Armin in this scene because he was the only person who truly understood how horrifying and agonizing her last moments were as he felt the same thing when he sacrificed himself to defeat Bertholdt. His face said it all when he saw her burning corpse falling from the sky.
@@Windtorment i still remember that scene from S3 P2 where she convinced Mikasa to let Armin go and revive Erwin because they needed him, by telling her that no one understands her and Eren's pain more than her and Levi who have lost so many friends.
I just binge watched the entire show for the first time after hearing this came out thinking it was the final episode and damn hange was the best. So many fucking great characters and twists. It's not my top 5 favorite shows but damn it was so well written and told.
@@Zezzu13 1. Regular show 2. South park 3. Rick and morty 4. Impractical jokers 5. Adventure time Yeah I put rick and morty in top 3 and not attack on titan in top 5, come at me
@@Zezzu13 ohhh no. I dont watch anime. Attack on titan was an exception since the premise really interested me. Do you by any chance know any really good animes? I'm kinda looking for more really dark or depressing stuff like aot.
3:49 This scene is beautifully set, not only it is a fitting farewell to Hange herself, but also clearly illustrates how insignificant the worldly hardships are, once you pass on.
It's the most implausible and ridiculous, it violates my suspension of disbelief more than the actual titans. How it could possibly be aimed, how that amount of force could be generated for the launch and more importantly the super fast winch, where all the wire would possibly be stored, how it NEVER JAMS, and how the FUCK it doesn't just kill and cripple anyone using it since the lower back is the least resistant body regionto fucking torque forces after the neck. You truly have to turn your brain off to think it looks cool. And the stupid x-acto swords kill me too but that's a whole other thing.
@@nehh_aksat I'm not native speaker, so i don't know the phrase of "so long". Could you explain to me what is the meaning of that phrase ? Or give me another phrase with the same meaning, please
I honestly don’t even know which is more impressive, the beauty of her final act or the fact that she’s doing all of this with one eye. Gonna miss you Hange 😢
If Hange had to be killed fighting Titans (which was perfectly logical because this is Hange we’re talking about), I’m just glad that they didn’t get eaten.
@@ajwaddanwarr3409 It sucked because it didn't follow the generic plot literally every mc does? Altho Eren does suck as a person.. but as a character purely.. dayum he is deep.
That was the joke brah ✊😔 the 4-eyes nickname stays because Hansi losing an eye makes it so much better! Props for noticing though, unlike so many others who're missing all the little details
@@rezanurmohamed3326 I read a report that said there might be a different ending, but it was never confirmed. However, based on how this episode started, we’ll get the same ending as the manga
@@kevinwilson3296 and im basing the characters how they are written in the manga..... not how they are animated with breast and ass. (it attract satisfies viewers)
Hange’s death was both horrific and beautiful. A worthy sendoff to one of the greats. The throwback to the first seasons music, her never changing her love and fascination of titans, Levi finally saying shinzo wo sasageyo, the reunion of the fallen, and Hange putting the mission before her own life and always giving time to others.. man what a fucking show.
I was sobbing at this scene! Levi saying "give your heart" and Erwin saying "you've had it tough" was so emotional. Hange was a real one. She'll never be forgotten.
It's insane because Levi's not crying but you can tell he's hurting the most. He's been through more longer than everyone else to the point he's numb to the pain. What a journey this was. Thank you AOT (2013-2023)!
Levi's had his entire squad slaughtered on at least 4 different occasions at this point. Not to mention the off-screen Scout missions beyond the wall; his skill gets him home safely (almost) every time but at this point he's probably seen more horrible deaths than anyone. Survivor's guilt is real.
@@masterchiff6784 It's so cool how AoT can flush out the genocidal maniacs among us and make them expose themselves without even realizing it. If you think Eren is right in destroying the entire fucking world and Floch is right for supporting him, you probably would think the same in a real life situation (that it's okay to kill millions of civilians for your nation even though half of them did absolutely nothing wrong), which is literally sick
@@mucicafrajer Yeah but you have to keep in mind what they done to them. They geocide them, kept them in concentration camps, then used biological warfare to transform them into disfigured giants with no intelligence that would consume their own kin. And then when Eldia reached out and try diplomacy they declare war on them and went to the island to try to slaughter all of them. I mean what the fuck else are the Eldians supposed to do; roll over and die?
The one thing that's a bit odd about it that I only thought on recently is the realization that even in the afterlife, Hange still has the eyepatch. I'm like "hey now, Erwin got his arm back, you can give Hange her eye back too", lol.
@@SpanishFly120 Isayama confirmed in one of his interviews that its no Heaven but was just Hange's near death experience, like a very quick hallucination before she passed
@@tonyhawksproskater2406honestly, it's pretty weird that she still has the attachment to Erwin, given how much of a complete opposite they are. It's like Eren seeing Reiner in his death moments, lol
@@tonyhawksproskater2406 Wait, jesus christ so THIS wasn't her in the afterlife? Brother in Christ I guess Isayama really pulled no punches on making the reality of the AOT world absolutely miserable.
One of the best death scenes in cinema. When I saw her reunited with the rest of the squad and heard my favorite character (erwin) welcome her I couldn't help but tear up. What an excellent anime!
The fact people said Sasha's death was sadder really don't get it. Her and Levi were what was left of the "old breed", and now it's just Levi. The definition of giving your heart for humanity, what the scouts were founded on.
100%, even the 104th(?) Never felt the true scout struggle they only joined at the tail end of things, for a LONG time everyone just died every mission
@@gabrielmcguoirk6106 eh they just didn’t hit like Sasha. She was solidified in the inner circle. To me it was different because we didn’t get enough time to build a stronger bond with them like with Sasha.
This is my favorite scene from the hole show. The send off, the passion in her voice, the pain from her comrades, her desperation. It’s so beautiful and I feel like it just encompasses the mood of the show.
The first time we heard this song, we watched as Levi lost his first on-screen comrades. We didn’t hear this song again until he lost the last comrade he had left.
in the manga... this chapter actually was very bad since she died for nothing :( but the animators did her death so much justice!!!!!! this actually might be the best fight in anime history (even tho it lasted 2 min)
I really love the fact that they used the season 1 ost here. It gave the feeling of the show going back to what it was originally about: Killing titans just to survive, which is exactly what this scene is. So good
Levi absolutely makes this scene hit for me. To him saying “give your heart” like he finally has a reason to believe that mantra to him saying “so long, Hange. Watch us” after Hange asking if the ones who died are watching them. Not “watch over us” but just simply “watch us”.
0:29 This scene broke me.. The fact that she still approaches titans with that same curiosity and to now see her join the fallen comrades.. Such a masterpiece.
Dude I’m literally in love with this song I need to know what it is. There’s been several moments throughout the series where this song plays in such a climatic moment and it always gives me chills or even makes me tear up please tell me what the song name is 😭😭
My theory is that subjects of ymir actually do have an afterlife in the paths. Afterall they are all connected there so it stands to reason that an afterlife, for Eldians, actually exists in a way.
The fact that she was able to take down around 20+ collosal titans on screen, show just physically strong she was. There's an extremely good chance that she took down quite a few more off screen.👹 But as I said before, she truly went out like a boss! And the music was perfect... totally tugs at the heartstrings, especially when you see her falling to earth, burning... shing bright... shining like a star. 😭🔥☄
They did this scene justice, when i read it, there was alot not shown, like most of the 3d manuver gear scenes aren't added in the manga because.. its awkward to draw all of that, animating is different in certain cases, but in the manga it felt like she could of gotten away because the scenes were faster than this. This... showed just HOW close they were and it was defiantl a "IF she didn't do it, they would have lost the plane. The ost of course is top tier for this scene. I was thinking of vogel im kafig or Yousebiggirl, but defiantly a pleasant surprise hearing a revision of this song again as it was like used once or twice in the first season.
yeah, I remember that Hange's sacrifice seemed almost unnecessary in the manga, due to how fast it happened as you said, to the point where many people were speculating that it wasn't really necessary and that Hanhe did it because they wanted to unalive themselves due to all the pressure and desperation of what they were going through
Levi is one of the most stoic characters in this series. He’s lived til the almost end and seen all of his friends and compatriots die. Those shadow lines drawn over his eye during the extreme closeup reveal a moment of despair as he realizes he’s about to lose another person, but he hardens his resolve and respects Hange’s desire to go out honorably. Despite the pain in his heart from letting her go, he plays along with Hange’s will and gives her one last inspirational command: “Give your heart.”
SPOILER: He did live to the end didn't he? In the epilogue (after Eren died), I remember seeing him sitting in a wheelchair as the others worked in a field? He is the old member of the Old Guard who survived it all.
@@jonahthrane812 you’re right, and I was referring to the end of the world not Levi. It’s a Cold War moment where the world stands still in face of a world annihilating power. In other words, Levi lived to see what looks like the end of the line for humanity.
Who are the other 4, you’ve got Levi at one for sure, Mikasa is probably second and then you have HAnge but after I can’t really think of who to put next
I feel like crying because Hange was my 2 fav character in AOT and this exit was............... extremely sad, she gave her life away to protect Levi and the others. This scene is really touching for me. You will be missed Commander Zoe Hange. * choking *
I will never get over how we know the Rumbling is a literal apocalypse for the planet that we see almost no one can escape from earlier in the episode. They run, drive and only barely manage to escape it on a train but 99% gets horribly trampled to nothing. And what does Hange do when she knows she has to stall the apocalypse for her squad and buy time for them for them? She charges at it with zero hesitation. And does exactly that. Hange died one of the most badass deaths possible. A normal person with no super powers in her 30s, fighting to her last breath to save the people she loves and to save the rest of humanity and literally holds off the apocalypse through only her skills, experience, fitness and intelligence. She could have commanded Levi or Mikasa to do it, and they would have done it better, but she knew in the greater scheme they were needed to stop Eren. She was the third best and knew it. We saw her intelligence throughout the series but she survived over the years and now we got to see her shine for all the skills she acquired and just how damned good she was. She accepted her death, which in Attack on Titan is a blessing considering how instant usually is. RIP Commander Hange Zoe. Dedicate your heart!
@@TheAeroAvataranime is a completely different experience. Whether you know what happens or not seeing it acted out as opposed to still comic panels is very different.
Literally going out in a blaze of glory. She fought with outright conviction until she literally exploded. Hange got the best death of any character we lost throughout the show, she was such a badass.
This was easily one of the best animated and executed scenes throughout Season 4 which was backed up by the perfect soundtrack to bid farewell to one of the main characters of AOT. I'm glad they did this scene justice because, in the manga, it just felt like Hanji wanted to make a quick exit from everything and she just found an excuse to do it. But in the anime, the weight, the power and the effort Hanji did to successfully secure the Alliance was a powerful scene
most honorable death in the show hands down, she headed straight towards and INTO the RUMBLING. taking down tons of colossals until the very last breath while giving her allies enough time to take off.. ALL WHILE ONLY HAVING ONE EYE?!? she wasn't even injured from any debris too, THAT is an elite soldier. RIP HANGE ACKERMAN
It just hits so much harder when the plane takes off and the beat drops. Hange did the job and did it well. The Commander's squad made it out alive. Mission accomplished.
She wanted to see the titans, she did. She wanted to give them more time, she did. She wanted to die in a cool way, she did. Her whole arc was complete. She had one of the exits of all time.
Hange went out on her own terms, which is unheard of in Attack On Titan. She chose her death and god damn did she fight for every second of life she had left.
I love how the music has that short pause after Hange is pretty much dead but then comes back stronger than ever as the plane is taking off. I feel like it symbolizes how even though Hange may have died their sacrifice lives on.
4:04 rewatching the whole show and focusing on the side characters made me like SnK so much more. seeing Moblit helping her is just so cool. One of the best "unimportant“ characters And Mike too. Seeing him next to Erwin… man what a show
The clip of Hange burning up, silence, music cues when ship takes off, seeing hange fall, everyones reactions leading up to Levis final goodbye is the definition of a perfectly executed scene. But then, when Hange gets up, realizes shes dead, music cues and she says to Erwin "I had my hands full" it is finally hitting me that a character ive known for a decade ...worked so hard... 😢(and still "failed")
She didn’t fail she fulfilled her duty and helped save humanity. If it wasn’t for her bravery and sacrifice they’d all be dead and eren would’ve wiped out everyone remaining.
@@MOHIMEDIALLC Dying isn't failing my man, especially when your enemy is an army of 60 meter titans. They needed someone to buy time so the others could escape and she accomplished that. **SPOILER** Would you have wanted her to be like Levi and live as a cripple alone with all your former comrades dead? Hange chose to die defending her ideals and humanity itself, I refuse to see that as failing.
@@sfbenji Are you 12 years old? Yes she accomplished her objective of giving them time to escape (barely enough). She failed to survive. Why is this hard for you to grasp. It is a theme in AoT of how hard the characters work to survive and die anyway. You're arguing just to argue lmao.
I was crying throughout this whole scene. This mad scientist was one of the biggest parts of my entire childhood. Rest in peace, Hange. You’ll never be forgotten.
It’s tough to hold back the tears when you think about all the years that you’ve spent watching and waiting for attack on titan. The love and respect you start to have for the main cast of characters. Watching them struggle to survive. Anime is too much these days 😭
