Eren accomplished his goal. He is not a psychopath, he saw visions of the future and realized no matter what it is his destiny to do the rumbling. The Marley raid was proof that if he wasn't going to do anything everyone on Paradis, everyone within the walls would be killed. The cycle of hatred continued the war and destroyed everything YEARS after Mikasa and everyone else died.
