Hello there! I'de like to thank you for these 3 videos about this little outboard. I'm considering buying one for my 4.5 meters (about 15 ft) long sailboat, and your information was very helpful. Cheers!!
I have 4 engines. My first was Hangkai 3.5. I had it 8 years now and it is still running like new. It is good for fishing with nets, because if you take it rod fishing, you can be certain that it will scare out all the fish.
I just got a 3.5 hp and am breaking it in, running it in a trash can w/ water up to the right level. Mixed gas & oil 35:1. gear oli in correctly. There's quite a bit of smoke or burned oil - is that a problem, and what can I do about it? The motor, water, and trash can aren't perfectly level and perpendicular - is that a problem?
Mr Mechcanada, Would u think if i used the additive to ethenol gas one buys at auto zone. I use Lucas ethenol remover myself. i havent found any research on 2 stroke outboards on that subject. should that remove sufficient ethenol from gas to work out ok? in ur opinion,. Ive purchased 2 of these engines their in the box an im gettn ready to set them up. Tks John Montgomery Alabama USA
I'm very close to buying their 4hp - who knows if it's the same as the 3.5 or not; just looking for an engine prognosis a year and a half later... Hope the brain surgery went well too!
Help me 😕 I just purchased this engine. My engine keeps turning off as soon as i lower the throttle what's wrong? Any idea I'm use same oil recommended for this motor ( oil mixture with fuel) I'm using 95 octane gasoline
Not being able to see and hear the motor run makes it a bit harder to say what is wrong. If you mixed the fuel in the proper amounts then that should not be the problem. It could be in the carburator. It has an adjustment. It could be air getting in the gas. It might be the spark plug is faulty. You are not overheating it and testing with the leg in water right? The water is circulating. Pull the water outlet off with the motor running and see if water spurts out. CHeck that the shut off wires and spark plug wire is not shorting out. It should run on idle.
