Hank has lived in Perth W.A. for many years and has a studio in the city. Wonderful Land player by the master himself sets him above all in the guitar world.

Hank, I am almost 71. I consider your playing to be the signature music of my generation.

He's just absolutely iconic. When I heard hendrix I was completely blown away by his genius but to be honest years later I find myself even more amazed by this man . The tone, the entire sound world he creates, the rhythmic backing, the technique which isn't so difficult, not in theory anyway, but could only be played by hank. In terms of allowing the guitar to sound like a guitar I would now place hank Marvin together with mark knopfler as the two greatest players of all time. I know Mark was greatly influenced and inspired by hank. So what on earth would have happened if hank had never lived. It doesn't bear thinking about.

This tune always invokes happy memories of a ten year-old Army brat with 2nd Battalion Scots Guards, Templer Barracks, Kahawa Garrison, Kenya Colony 1961-1963. Wonderful Land was a juke box favourite which completely summed up our lives in what was and remains. a wonderful land!

I love the sound of the Burns guitars they have that lovely nasel sound especially the Burns Marvins. I play a Burns Marvin bass guitar its the best bass guitar I've ever played, I've had it since 2007 still gives a fantastic sound.

Hank is amazing, he never seems to age.

Hank surprised the chap on Cillas sofa who was a big fan. I and my family were on the show too. Cilla brought my sister over from NZ, the 1st time we had seen her in 25 years. And she had her children with her too who we had never seen. There was 51 of our family on the show, the biggest reunion they had ever done...it was priceless.

This gentlemen (Hank Marvin) has pure love in his heart. He smiles always, watch his facial expressions. One of the most positive humams on earth. Greatful to have him with us...

The best guitar player ever lived

I believe that the 'Fender Stratocaster guitar, imported from the USA in 1959 was a sound investment by pop singer Cliff Richard for his backing band ' The Shadows'. It was primarily for Hank Marvin, the leader of the group, and purchased with his approval. The innovative design allowed for a sound moving out beyond the parameters of other electric guitars of the times. In Great Britain it was a first. Hank Marvin developed a style using the vibrato [tremelo] bar and a tecnique also to dampen the 'twang' in some passages played. As someone from his era, I really applaude him. His musical deliveries were always to an impeccably high standard. 'Wonderful Land' is still a piece that captivates.......... and makes you feel good about everthing........ Thanks for posting.

The Shadows are a thing unto themselves, there nothing before them, nothing after them. There are imitators or similar but there is only one The Shadows

The tone of the guitar played by Hank Marvin is beautiful and pleasant.

There's one thing about Hank and that he never put a note wrong. Easy but when everyone is waiting for the next note and he always nailed it.🎉
