I was lost in my past until Jesus Christ came into my life. praise the Lord I saw the light. I don't fear darkness demons or Satan I don't fear even death. I am a Christian I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. God bless all of you fellow Christians
I love this song one day I was driving to work early in the morning and I was listening to this song and a whole course Angels were singing with me in my car and I never been the same since God is good all the time
I had the same experience with my Grandparents, like I listen to Rock & Hip Pop mostly now. But I can't help but come back to the tunes I heard growing up as a kid.
My Grandparents listened to this as my siblings and I were growing up. My grandma was diagnosed with cancer about 5 months ago and I always listen to this while thinking about her. I will continue to listen to this when I become an adult.
I was watching Columbo and Johnny Cash was singing this song. I had to hear it from the original singer. Did not know it was Hank Williams. Love the words to this song. Now I will share it with the church of Christ in Clarksville to sing it acapella. Beautiful words of repentance.
Now this is real old time gospel, no one sings this anymore, and that is ashamed, My parents use to play Roy Acuff And Hank William's gospel ,I will go to service and bust out with old rugged cross ,because the lord is telling me to ,,so glad i found this music God Bless you all
"Thank you for all the love you gave me. There could be no one stronger. Thank you for the many beautiful songs. They will live long and longer."- Hank Williams. I am only 20 years old and I love this song so much, but I never see the movie or trailer of this but #prayHankWilliams🕊️ #goodsinger♥️ #death1953💔 #age29yearsold😭
My band, the Dauphin Street Stompers, plays authentic New Orleans jazz, and about a third of our repertoire consists of older spirituals. We are adding this one even though it is modern. Thanks for the lyrics.
After watching John Piper’s ~11 minutes video listening with intent to understand Jesus’ teaching on blindness and sight and bible in hand on Matthew 6:22-23 and 20:15. AND then reading Saul’s conversion in Acts 9! Praise the Lord!!! I saw the light. God is good. Time for those who love Jesus to be about our Father’s business. Hallelujah.
Ty for this. It was not God who turned His back- it was me. Thankfully, Our Father accepts us back. Confessed my sins, Reaffirmed what I still knew- that Jesus Christ is my Saviour - and if He can show mercy to a sinner like me, He will to all. God bless all☺
Amen!!! Thank You Lord Jesus for saving us! Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead YOU WILL BE SAVED!!"
Best RU-vid video version of this song I have come across yet. I do not profess to be a Christian but I have accepted Jesus Christ to be my *personal* saviour. This was a simple logical decision for me. There has never been a life problem that I have needed to look outside of the (King James!) Bible or beyond the words of Jesus Christ for an answer ... ergo, Jesus IS my *personal* saviour.
Hank is right, stop worrying and give it to the Lord. Don't fear that you can't handle life, because you can if you have the shield of Jesus. I'm a sinner that is blessed by Jesus everyday. ❤️
Did you know the song I saw the Light was written by an alcoholic and drug addicted man who died at the young age of 29? His name was Hank Williams Sr. The light was actually the light of the airport near Montgomery, Alabama. When they were headed home from road trips they knew they were getting close when they could see the light from the airport. One night as they were headed home from a road trip it was late and his mother said I saw the light meaning they were getting close to home. Hank wrote the song I Saw the Light from that statement. Also, another night he was too drunk to do a show. Minnie Pearl and another person drove him around trying to sober him up. She began singing I saw the light to him. He stopped her and said there is no light. He was dead much too soon afterward. There is a light. Hank couldn't see it because his addiction wouldn't let it through. But he knew there was a light even when the drugs and alcohol made him deny it. He wrote the song. Listen to to words. He never could have written it if he didnt know the light. If you have addiction problems, get help please. Rest in peace, Hank Williams Sr.
If you read the comments there’s a lot of people who seen the light I seen the light n spoke with god n it’s not just a light god presents everything look into religion experience it yourself u haven’t been guided 🙏 may Allah have mercy on you
I love this! My father- in -law "toured" with hank williams back in the day. I say "toured" because they just drove around in the hills of West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indianna and such in pretty much whatever they could ride in. He is Axl Rose's Uncle My father-in-Law that is. We don't claim him lol
Who was your father in law?, my father and his brothers were very much involved with Hank in the early days in Nashville before he made the big time. Also it's true they drove whatever they could find to ride in. lol
My grandpa Lloyd William Bud Montgomery Jr. carried his casket to the hearse in Oak Hill, Wva. 32 years later he died on December 7, 1985 at the young age of 60.
Might be the only one here that just loves this song cause of the melody and I don't care for the lyrics (I'm an atheist). Seems most people in the comments are old.
To the hundred and seven people (as of this writing) who don't 'like' this: You don't need to believe in God, or be religious. You don't need to make any great commitment to anything you don't truly believe in. You are good because you try to be good. You will not be judged here. Come out of the darkness and visit with us. You will always have a home here. We will never turn our backs on you. Even if you don't believe in God, we will always love you. Your house is always in our hearts. I'm sorry more people haven't treated you this way, but you absolutely and definitely deserve to be happy and at peace. I love you, all, unconditionally. And yes, it is my privilege to say and feel this - all thanks to your hard work and commitment to being the best you can be!
+Chris Chrzan Not yet it's not out til May in the U.K but in the trailer, this song is played at the end. I wanted to see how similar Tom's and Hank's sounded 😊
Not sure when this song is from exactly, but I love late 1800's and early 1900's style gospel music. I would love to listen to it steaming down the Mississippi or on a dirt road in a Model T. :)
