God bless Hank Williams. As ashamed as I am to say, there was a time in my life when I nearly denied The Lord for good and all. If it wasnt for Hank and his heart wrenching gospel performances I'd still be lost to this day. The man had many faults, but one thing is certain and that is he used his talent for good and whether intentional or not, he brought (or in my case kept) many souls to The Lord with his powerful gospel renditions. To this day (and I am a avid Hank fan who listen to him alot) I must be careful where, and when I listen to some of his gospel songs, as no matter how many times I may have heard it, The Holy Spirit overwhelms me. No other artist in my life time has ever commanded such power over me. Has never had the ability to move me emotionally until Hank Williams.
Lot of people don't know but he got saved before he died.... I'm 46...... been listening to him my whole life....he is the g.o.a.t of country music..... there will never be another Hank Williams....
He was one of a kind who will never be replaced. He encouraged so many singers along the way. I often wonder if he knew just how great he was. Because of Hank Williams we had that great music. Sad to say nowadays we don't really have real country music. Only a few left.

We all loved Hank Williams. He died of a bad disease. Alot of people have the same thing My younger sister did. But she was a good Christain. God Bless ypu Hank. God is good.🙏❤

I hope so "Mary" because my father could sing so much like him that back during the Vietnam War which was a useless war... they put him on stage lol. Anyway, pop recently went to heaven. I hope they are side by side trying to out sing each other. Lol love them both. I wasn't born yet but pop told me he cried like a baby when Hank Sr passed.
My mom knew Hank Sr. in Montgomery as a teen. Many stories I remember her telling. My dad was jealous of him when he came to their store. He’d tell her, your friend just drove up. Funny...
I was raised with Hank. My mother and father always played the albums they played on the weekend's. I will never forget Hank! Number #1 in my book! R.I.P. Hank! May your music keep playing! Even in Heaven! Amen!
I read his mother played the piano in church and he would sit on the bench with her and before he left the last time he visited the preacher telling him he had a short time to be here.
I recently heard Hank's solo version of this song. What a great gospel song. Hank did some truly fine gospel singing. If you look around, you can find a number of great gospel songs Hank recorded on various radio shows. I learned the acoustic guitar by listening to Hank Williams. I know some of his gospel songs and this one I'll learn as well. The acoustic guitar is made for Hank's songs. I know he would have been a very cool guy to have met and talked with.

Previously I had heard the same version as you. Audry was a horrible singer and she never should have did any kind of singing with Hank. I remember reading a book about Hank written by Don Helms his steel guitar player. Don mentioned him and the rest of the band hated it when Audry would sing with Hank because she was never in the correct key and was very flat. The funny thing was, she really believed she could sing and would be a help to Hank's career as a singer.
