This is actually one of my favorite albums Hank did it had some great songs on it my favorite is yours and his would live to get this one on cd

one comment credited hank with "saving country music back in the 70's"... i wonder where they thought jennings, don williams, jimmy dean, gene watson, haggard, buck owens- & not sure when marty robbins & some other greats died... my gosh! the list was long back then! not many real western singers now but good grief, country was really hot back then.... hank jr was much better back in his early yrs though, according to me....... love this one.

Hank took so many songs and made them his own....Susan floor is untouchable as well.....He is also one of the greatest songwriters of all time..

hank should wear this album as a badge of honor he never sounded better!!!

I prefer his older stuff from back then any day of the week

Thanks so much Wilber, for the info on this tune. It has been driving me crazy trying to remember who had the big hit with it. Rex Allen Jr. did such a great job . I do have a life Wilber but I must confess that I look forward to your postings as I am sure many others do. It's nice to know that there are still country fans that appreciate the real thing. You should really have a Radio Gig playing oldies with your knowledge of REAL COUNTRY MUSIC.

@rdowns56 The biggest hit with this was Rex Allen, Jr (#19 in 1974). David Frizzell and Eddy Arnold also released it as a single too :)

Great Song! There was another artist that also recorded this tune. Does anybody know what his name was? It was a much better version to me. Leon Ashly comes to mind but I guess it's not him. HELP!!! It's driving me crazy trying to remember.
