@@eaglesfootballcards6984 dont disagree. But i dont think that many of them collect. I think its just being pushed by the big whales breakers and distributors tbh. And then eventually they will dump the cards and we’ll find out just how many true fans collect.
I def think you're onto something. F1 cards are pushed by newbies or hype beasts who didn't catch the wave of regular sports cards so they gotta pump up this garbage.
Flagship chrome got nowhere near $50/box at release. Cheapest pre-sell cases were $1200 in the preceding fall (I distinctly remember this b/c I didn't buy the 3 cases I could have) and boxes were $550-$600 out of the gate. They actually dipped below $500 in May when Topps dropped F1 Sapphire as all the buyers flocked to that instead. Crazy to look back and see how long F1 stayed relatively range bound before taking off like a rocketship. Congrats to all those that got in early.
