Good morning kassandra. I just bought model #HI98129 PH/EC/TDS combo tester. Reading the manual I couldn't figure out how to change, the temperature units of measurement. This presentation video, made it very easy to understand. I kept press but not, holding mode button. For 6 seconds after the unit was turned off. Thank you for the presentation video. Now I need some distilled water.
I'm on my third one this year. My last one lasted two weeks, never dropped, never went dry, used and cleaned daily. kinda getting sick of spending $200 at a time for something that can't last more than a few months.
i think its calibrated out the factory but after being stored on store shelves for who knows how long, the probe could possibly dry out a bit making it not as accurate
Just bought your HI98129. I'm unable to calibrate it even after following all the steps. ph 7.01 solution shows 7.18 and ph 4.01 solution shows 4.57. Can you guide?
Trying to do the two point calibration with brand new HI98129. Always getting the WRNG message when i am switching from 7.01 buffer(HI7007) to 4.01buffer(HI7004). I rinse the electrode in RO water before putting it in 4.01 buffer. What must be going wrong? Please advice..
Try leaving the probe in your solution for a bit longer. The probe says wrng when it doesn't detect the correct solution. After a few seconds the error message should go away allowing you to proceed. Hopefully this helps you in your endeavors!
Hi Joji. You can visit a local retailer or visit hanna's website for buffers and cleaning/storage solutions. How old is your meter? Can you give me a little bit more information about what's going on?
Really like my Hanna combo, but can't your company give names which I can remember? What do I need to calibrate? 1805226 or 2590522 or was it 598643? :(
Hi Bee. Glad you like your meter! We do have some long names for our products, but hopefully we can help simplify it for you. If you visit hannainst.com you can find all the calibration solutions you need. Typically with this meter, you would want pH 7.01 Buffer (HI7007) pH 4.01 buffer (HI7004) pH 10.01 Buffer (HI7010) & 1413 µS/cm EC Standard (HI7031) Depending on what you're measuring, you may not need the pH 10.01 buffer. It all depends on your need. Hope this helps!
I had the same problem buddy. Until I watched the video. I'm a slow one. Took me a few to many off a one. To understand; how to get there. I turned mine on. Then made sure it was in ph mode. Pressed the mode button. Which will show off. Now hold for 6 seconds. Changed the temperature range. The instructions in the manual were confused. But kassandra cleared it up for me. Thank you kassandra. I hope your doing well. Since all this covid $h!t. Hope this helps Le Badger? I hope all is well buddy.
Hopefully you found a solution! What I did when this problem occurred was rinsing with DI water in between cal solution. It will still say wrng when you go to place the probe into the next solution but, ignore that and leave it in the next solution for a minute and it should continue with calibrations. The probe will say wrng when it doesn't detect the correct solution and after a few seconds it should allow you to proceed. Hopefully this helps the next person who has this problem!
Hi nanou. You want to be in EC/TDS mode. From there you can enter calibration mode and change the setting from there. Hope this helps! You can find the demonstration at 3:47 in the video.
The meter gives the error message "wrng" when it doesn't detect the correct solution. After a few moments it should go away allowing you to proceed with your calibrations. This occurred for me when I would rinse my meter with DI water after the 7.01 solution prior to putting it into the 4.01pH solution. Hopefully this helps!
Hello Can you help me? I can't calibrate my HI98129. I'm using a new 1413 microsiemens solution, but the screen says "Wrong" My Hi98129 is new too. What could be the problem?
Stay away from these. I bought one for christmas and did not work right out of package. And the warranty is not covered because hydro store did not give me a receipt.. what a waste
Hi Kenneth. Buying from a store can sometimes mean the meter may have been sitting for a while. Electrodes need to be rehydrated with storage solution when they become dry. I'd recommend soaking it in your storage solution for 2 hours and then trying it again. If it still doesn't work, contact tech@hannainst.com
Hi Jake, The Mode button does turn the meter on, but once it's on, press the button again and hold it. You'll see CAL displayed on the screen. Release the button and it will ask you for your first calibration buffer. If you still have issues let me know!
I just want to ask about the calibration of the High range ph meter I was confused while I'm doing calibrate using buffer ph 7.01 then after a few Seconds 10.01 was indicated in LCD screen instead of 4.01. it's there's any problem ? or I can use also the 10.01 for the 2nd point of calibrating?.
The tester will automatically recognize which buffer you use. It seems it is just going to the next point up, but if you were to use pH 4.01, it would recognize and calibrate accordingly. Using pH 4.01 or 10.01 first will do a 1 point calibration by default.
Hi Harmeet. Would it not enter calibration mode or not stabilize? Many times, a stabilization issue is due to a dehydrated electrode. It's important to keep it stored in storage solution. Something that works is if you let your electrode soak in storage solution for an hour, it will rehydrate and should work just fine.
