Hannibal Missouri: Home of Mark Twain 

Hannibal Missouri is the home town of Mark Twain, my favorite author. Growing up in China I used to read Mark Twain's books and imagine myself there taking part in the adventures. Little did I know I was imagining a real place called Hannibal Missouri. Hannibal Missouri appears to be just another small American town, but there is more to Hannibal than meets the eye. Hannibal Missouri has managed to produce some very famous people, like Mark Twain and the Unsinkable Molly Brown. Most of Mark Twains imaginary adventures with Huck Fin and Tom Sawyer were inspired by his real life boyhood adventures in Hannibal Missouri, and by the real people around Mark Twain in his childhood. Today Hannibal Missouri offers a number of museums dedicated to Mark Twain. Hannibal Missouri also has fully restored the buildings where Mark Twain lived and interacted with the people who would inspire the characters in Mark Twains books. It's all there in Hannibal Missouri. Going to Hannibal Missouri may even feel like you have stepped out of this reality, and into the pages of one of Mark Twain's books. I still find it remarkable that people like me have been reading about Hannibal Missouri for all this time without knowing it was a real place. It is also amazing to walk the same streets of Hannibal Missouri that Mark Twain once walked.
