No.. the failure on capturing Moscow was 100% due to sending the tanks south. Forget the weather. If they had kept moving towards Moscow in 1941, which was still very lightly defended, it would have fallen quickly. This would have left it very difficult for the USSR to move soldiers around as 7 railways met up in Moscow.
"which was still very lightly defended" is BS, since almost all AA batteries were withdrawn from the front and transferred around Moscow during the summer and autumn of '41. Operation Barbarossa was doomed from the start anyways, there was no chance of capturing Moscow.
@@нєманрсь By the time the Germans moved on Moscow it was to late. They 100% could have taken even without the Kiev. Because if the Stavka asked them to withdraw, Army Group south would have attacked them from the rear. By November, they moved their Eastern Divisions to defend Moscow. By then it was too late. Also, while other cities were train hubs and didn’t cause a collapse. Moscow would have been different. Stalin also refused to withdraw. It is why Guderian cracked the shits as well, and went straight back to Germany to try and stop Hitler in delaying the attack.
Germany lost due to economic and logistical factors. In fact, the war was lost in August of 1941. The USSR could out produce Germany by a mile. Consider that the US was the arsenal of democracy there was no chance.
Have you ever thought that maybe it was stupid of you to invade? I mean, cold winters are cold for us too and you had every advantage possible in the beginning of the war. Well, I’m sorry we didn’t make it warmer for you and weren’t so complaint while you were trying to kill us all
This kind of WW2 internet pages are full of Nazi sympathizers arguing why the Germans lost. The fact that invading USSR was a crime from the beginning doesn't bother them.
Oh i dunno. Maybe because AH was a terrible tactician. The germans had pretty awful economy of force for most of the eastern campaigns. The soviets moving all their heavy industry behind the Urals and out of reach of the luftwaffe. The US lending.the soviets gobs of fuel, ammo, food, 150,000 trucks, and a whole ass goodyear tire factory to keep tires on all those trucks. Take your pick.
AH didn't interfere in his staff decisions in '41. Also, Lend-Lease didn't play almost any role in Defence of Moscow. Therefore, the statement is incorrect.
