I was raised on all of these movies. I didn’t really have any friends, so I watched movies a lot. I am from Denmark but took my pilot license in Florida in 2014. When I made a touch and go in Daytona Beach at night, and the lights were on on the racetrack, I almost had to ask my instructor to take over. I became very emotional, but I pulled together my strength and smiled like a mad man. ❤
+Heffa1337 Indeed he is. John Williams did some great movie scores, but Zimmer gives you those amazing adrenaline fueled scores that stay with you trhoughout your life. You'll be on the bus to work, in work, making toast, all the while humming some epic Zimmer magic :D If I were stupidly wealthy, I'd beg Zimmer to create me a life soundtrack to get through each day :D
Trapphus 7:48 is just a revelation!! Such strong emotion and character in that section of the track. Jeff Beck and Hans Zimmer for the win! :-) \m/ \m/
+Brako Achievement Hunter "John Williams did some great movie scores" = understatement of the century: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Superman, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Schindler's List, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Home Alone, Hook, Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot, etc... He has composed the most iconic scores in film history.
If there was a Days of Thunder 2 , I can picture Danica Patrick in it (I know, out of all drivers, right?). Logline: A down and out former champion still thinks he has something to prove until he's forced to take a off the rails driver under his wing. The driver? A niece he never knew about.
If you know anyone in NC they’ll tell you the ride at Carowinds was better than that. The seats moved with the car, you had a theatre screen in front of you and you weaved in and out of cars to win the race. Then you pulled into victory lane.
Can we all just admire how this movie is such an 80s/early 90s movie on so many levels (more rock oriented score with a lot of synth to back it up plus lots of hot pink and neon green) but still a legendary and underrated movie. There needs to be a sequel to this. As long as Top Gun: Maverick is good, I can't see a sequel for this not being awesome.
With Cole now as the team owner trying to work things out with a young driver, to which Cole see's aspects of himself from the first film, specifically the same lack of confidence after the accident that nearly killed him, but the kid has flashes of hidden talent but not the confidence to let it florish.
@@Sf_Mason Maybe the young driver could be Cole's son that he had with that hot doctor? Or maybe that would become too much of a family drama? Also, I'd like to see an appearance from Robert Duvall in there somewhere! Maybe if Cole needed some advice from an old-school guy? Damn... it needs to happen! :D Also, I'm sure Hans Zimmer would be up for another epic soundtrack. An updated version of the original melody would be cool.
@@cris694 yeah but F1 would be too fast when it comes to racing. Might be better to have him retire after a lackluster F1 career and then have him go back to stock car racing trying to build his reputation up while also on a team. Throw Randy Quaid in telling him “If the team wins this race you’ll become part owner.”

You want this in a real race ? 1990 Mexican Grand Prix, same year movie came out. Nigel Mansell passing Gerhard Berger... zig-zagging, but passing on the outside in a flat out curve bumpy as hell.
I don’t know what’s cooler The fact that Hans Zimmerman made two soundtracks that perfectly encompasses two different motor sports in different time periods Or the actual movies themselves
7:48 and 9:04 are my favourite sections of the track. I feel such strong emotion and character in those sections. The music solves its purpose and I tip my hat to Hand Zimmer and Jeff Beck! \m/ \m/
This is such a great and underrated score by Zimmer, I will always love his more rock/electric oriented soundtracks like this and Mission Impossible 2 the best
lol why. playing any songs at a funeral is just making a bunch of people forced to listen to some music they dont like and dont want to hear. that's torture.
Last turn careful he’s going to try to slingshot past you Russ don’t worry I know Cole he always goes the outside This ones for you Harry Cue Goosebumps
To this day, I don’t know if it was a purposeful flashback or the editors just used it to show as a random car in the wreck. Yes, I know you can barely see the 51 Exxon in the cloud, but there are a lot of editing anomalies throughout the movie. I suppose it works either way.
Hanz Zimmer has made many great tracks but this one is by far the greatest. And from what I know it's not even included in some versions of the Days of Thunder soundtrack... weird.
Dan, I was just commenting on this. I have TWO versions of the score CDs and this track isn't on either of them. I thought it was "Harry's Speech" originally but that is only like 2 minutes long. Then, I have this 29-track version of the score called "Expanded" but nope... this isn't on it. I happened to poking around RU-vid today for movie score stuff and came across this. Sooooo glad I did!
