3:44 is personally the saddest part for me. theory: this song, to me, feels like it's about a confused, neglected child that his parents ignored and cherished his sister instead, and at that timestamp, it's his funeral and people only started caring when he died and he doesn't understand it's a funeral so he just thinks "Oh, yay! finally, i have a party for me!" and now he seeks revenge upon his parents and wishes them misery because they hurt him so badly. he says he hates his sister because she's more popular and people pay attention to her, but in a negative way. i watched gretel as well and saw she had some abusive family themes too bringing me to think gretel was paid attention to but not in a positive way, rather in a negative way like the parents just flat out hit her or yelled at her or something, while hansel is just neglected. and since hansel would be a confused child, he'd probably think that any kind of attention is good attention, even abusive. // edit: grammar and stuff

vent⚠️ I relate to this song on a personal level, being always put underneath a sibling who uses anything for sympathy and how I know that people will only start to care if I die. My parents are bs. I feel like they don’t care if I hurt myself, they’d only care if I hurt someone else. People around me think im really weird but they just have to give me a chance and talk to me more, i cant help that I’m sometimes too cold toward people who aren’t close to me. There is something wrong with me mentally, I asked my mum for an autism or ADHD test as that is what I feel like it is currently (I put a lot of evidence together, made a PowerPoint and all, listed every single symptom I have) and she still told me I’m just desperate to be labelled. There are people around me who are like me but they all have their own shut off groups so I feel like I can’t befriend them and try to help them get through it. I just feel like it would be easier if I was dead, people would find a way to be happy and make my death a celebration.
