There are also the ATX chromed plates, but those are of course from Europe. Sad that Eleiko and Ivanko both stopped making these, would love to see those legacy manufacturers come back there. How snug do the Hanu chromed plates fit on the bar? Because a 5.6 or 5.4 diameter can make a big difference
I have seen the ATX as well as others by Xmaster, but just can't seem to get them sourced here in the US. I think the other brands dropped them due to the high cost and low volume of sales. As far as the plates go, the fit quite snug, so expect the centers to get some good wear on them.
I got 330 kg of calibrated Eleiko powerlifting plates in 2022, ordered on November 17th 2022, for what was at the time $1292.18, including shipping, straight from Eleiko. 13754.4 SEK. It is currently $1,245.51. Man, what a deal I got!
I recall when they had a similar deal here, you could combine a discount code with free shipping and it was super cheap! One of my best buys was the first black friday Rogue did the KG plates. I got a 459kg set for $1300 delivered.
I was thinking about the Hansu plates but I'm not about to give them my SSN. Just not comfortable with it. I'll buy the Rogue ones and drive the 2 hours to Columbus. It's an excuse to go visit friends and hit German Village for supper.
These plates are so incredibly beautiful, i would sell my family for the 459 kg set (Joking 😉). But seriously, the prettiest plates on the planet imo, cant wait until they sell them separately
I have some Pro Barbell chrome kilo plates and some Young Power Barbell chrome kilo plates. Both seem to have milled edges with cast centers. Just some oddballs I picked up.
Said it before and I'll say it again, that set is just beautiful and clean. If I were to get standard calibrated plates, it would be just the 25kg plates, because they match my gym setup. That Chrome is a great offering for pretty much any gym aesthetic.
Kustom Kit has a really nice looking calibrated chrome set with painted edges. For about 6 weeks though their web site has been messed up here in the US. I told them but it’s still not fixed 😢
OMG that’s horrible 🫤They had some really cool looking machines too. It would be cool if they could at least sell some of the patents or plans off to Watson.
Plates are good looking! I like more the colored ones. Does the chrome flake easily when doing deadlifts? Yeah, hard to calculate the weight on my Watsons when you are looking in front of them.
anyone buying the zkc plates be prepared to wait a long long time. They don’t put it on the website but ive had friends buy plates from them and they took forever to ship.
Hey Brandon, which set of plates would you recommend out of Hansu chrome (non coloured) and the strongarm chrome? I am also looking at rogue made in usa ecoat (non deep dish) and strenghco, but have concerns about the durability of the ecoat. Also have you tried the Hansu stainless steel powerlifting bar? I am thinking of potentially picking that up or a AB chewy bar.
So for the plates you've listed quite a few varying ones, most of which I own. Out of the ones you listed I use the Strength Co ones the most. They look good, are accurate, finish holds up well, and are affordable.
Is there generally a longer shipping time? I ordered a pair of 25kg plates from Hansu over a month ago and haven’t heard any updates or received a reply from their support email.
Very,, Very, limited demographic their shooting for there huh,, LOL They are sharp, I tell you!!! Hey Brandon, don't I see those plates in the background of Gluck's videos? First time I saw them behind him, I said to myself Basement Brandon had something to do with that. Haha IMO,, the sharpest Plates I have ever laid my eyes on!!!!!!!
Have you ever seen the Strongarm chrome kg plates? Very colorful while still being chrome, aesthetic imo, although I know you aren't a big fan of Strongarm Edit; just saw you mentioned em!
