I also have the Hantek 2D42. The outstanding PC software allows a USB connection to the laptop and checks on the larger screen for waveform details. I once used it to compare several chargers' P2P ripples and switch on characters.
Very nice unit for the price. Does the manual mention anything about accuracy or need for periodic calibration? Can it even be calibrated should reading seem off?
Hi Richard! It has automatic self calibration but it can also be triggered manually. Now remember most measuring instruments have this function and it usually is very basic compensation more of a self check to see if everything is working. If you are using the scope in an environment where the results are critical (manufacturing, testing, development, engineering, etc) then I would recommend professional calibration by an accredited Lab (usually with intervals for re-calibration set by the organization that needs the scope). I like the convenience and price point. That said, the waveforms look pretty ragged at that sample rate. Hopefully we will eventually see higher sample rates even even with the lower-priced handhelds.
